The next day.

Satoru is already done explaining the situation to Megumi when Sukuna arrives at the scene. “So he was born like this.” Sukuna comments idly while he looks down at the 4-year-old child.

“?” Megumi looks at him with his usual expressionless face.

“Don’t worry, Megumi-kun. I'll protect you from the big bad curse!” Satoru exclaims as he crouches down to hug Megumi while the kid just looks annoyed.

“He thinks you act stupid.” Sukuna states unamusedly.

“I didn't say that.” Megumi looks at him and denies it.

“But you think so.”

“......” The kid is silent at that and Satoru gives Sukuna an unwelcomed look.

“Why are you here?” Satoru frowns, seemingly not happy at the sight of him.

“To observe.” Sukuna ignores the face Satoru is making at him and simply looks away.

“If you're thinking of eating Megumi—”

“I could, if you cooked him delicious enough.” Immediately, the teen jumps up from the ground to argue about how Sukuna can't do that while Sukuna just sighs. Sukuna looks to the side with a bored expression on his face as he blatantly ignores Satoru, who only becomes noisier due to his attitude.

Seeing that there's no end to the sorcerer's noisy blabbering, Sukuna’s patience thins out. “I won't eat him so will you shut up already? Why would I eat him if I were the one who told you to find him?” Sukuna thinks the sorcerer is just being difficult on purpose. Should Sukuna just kill him now? He really wants to kill him now.

“Are you guys leaving already?” Megumi’s question breaks him out of his thought and to his relief, Satoru finally leaves him alone.

“Aww you don't want us to leave, Megumi-kun?”

“No, Tsukimi is coming back from school. I don't want her to see you.” Satoru looks like his whole world is shattered into pieces at Megumi’s reply. Before Satoru could say something, however, he's already being dragged away by the collar. Sukuna drags the sorcerer with him and leaves, only letting go when they're out of Megumi’s sight.

“Go deal with the Zenin clan.” Sukuna orders as he lets go of the sorcerer.

Satoru has a scowl on his face while he stabilizes himself to catch his footing. “Hahh, why me?” Satoru sends him an exasperated look.

“Because it has to be you.” Sukuna doesn't give him a clearer answer.

Satoru grumbles at that before throwing both his hands in the air in frustration. “Ughhh fine!” The sorcerer agrees reluctantly and Sukuna is gone once again, leaving Satoru to deal with the dirty work.

---

A week after successfully striking a deal with the Zenin clan, Satoru moves out of the school's dorm and moves into his newly-bought one-storey bungalow near the outskirts of Tokyo together with Megumi, who isn't that pleased about the idea of leaving Tsumiki behind. The reason for that is because Sukuna swears he'll kill her if they brought her along and Satoru can't keep an eye on the curse 24/7.

Why doesn't Satoru just exorcise him, you ask? Well, it's because Satoru finds him intriguing. The curse acts differently compared to all the other curses Satoru has encountered before. He doesn't act like a curse at all. He acts human. It's obvious that he's a special grade, most probably one of the strongest Satoru has ever seen. Satoru is pretty sure he's after his head like all the others, even though he's not showing any malicious intent just yet — it only makes Satoru more curious.
