Chapter 2, A love scale?

Zhongli continued back to the kingdom in a hurry. He didn't want Xiao to start thinking he died again. Once he got to the front door of the palace the guards opened it for him. He whent to the room ei and Barbatos usually were. He saw his broken polearm sitting on the stone table surrounded by, Xiao, ei, Barbatos, Ganyu, and yae. Once Xiao saw morax he swam towards him and gave him a hug.

"We thought you were dead!" Xiao said Hugging morax

"Again-"

"Don't start it! You allways wander into random places and somehow get hurt! Some day it could be much worse than that!"

"Okay Xiao, I'm sorry."

"It's okay sir but please stop wandering off!"

"I didn't wander off this time..."

"But you left your polearm there broken!"

"Oh- I passed out that's it."

"Wait a second... you reek of human-"

Zhongli's eyes widened. He pushed Xiao away " its nothing- now if you don't mind ill be going to my room." Zhongli said before swimming off.

"Did he go to the surface..." Xiao said looking back at the others.

"Xiao I understand you worry for morax alot but you have to allow him to do stuff freely. He's not a child." Yae said as she swam up to Xiao

"I know it's just- I don't want him getting killed..."

"I understand, but he's one of the 7, he can handle himself."

"I suppose..."

Back with morax

Morax swam to his room and layed on his bed. He thought about what would happen when he becomes human. Sure it would only last 18 hours but he was still scared. He hasn't been a human in over 500 years, before the war. Things must of changed drastically. And what if he runs out of time? Just Then he heard a knock on his door.

"Yes?" Zhongli asked

"Sir, it's dinner time, we're serving the hunt from earlier." Xiao said

"Ah- tell Ei and Barbatos I won't be comming tonight."

"Oh- Alright."

"Thank you."

Morax layed back down. He looked at the dull scale on his hand. It was his love scale. All sea creatures had it, most love scales were bright and colorful before the curse. But with the curse comes many dead. Most sea creatures scales were dull, even children's.

"Guizhong... I miss you." Morax said kissing his love scale.

Tears formed in his eyes. His tears floated up as he started to cry. Guizhong was one taken from the curse 200 years ago. Though it was so long ago Morax still remembers it like it was yesterday. The torture in her eyes as she puked up blood and tore her own skin off having to be tied down. She had one of the worst cases of it that Morax had ever seen.

"I will make that damn human pay for what his kind has done..."
