Author's pov:

"When did you came? Wallahi you didn't even informed your mother and just plann-", Saba, the mother of Emaad went on with her complains until Emaad interrupted.

"Ammi I-I was going to surprise you but when I got home Alyana's condition worsene-", But after all it was Emaad's mother we are talking about, she interrupted him back.

"It would be better if she would deliver a baby at home and waited for me, after all I have endured the same thing with a strong heart but your wife is so fragile", Her voice was laced with venom. Emaad looked at Alyana who was looking straight at his mother with an open mouth.

Alyana was hurt but who was going to understand her. No one. Emaad's mother was always like this yet Emaad was blind to know what his wife was going through. "Auntie I...I a-am sorry", Alyana stuttered but said those words with a heavy heart.

"Sorry for what? If sorry was enough then why would even laws and principles were made?", Emaad answered instead his mother. Saba smirked. Alyana was at loss of words.

"Emaad I am going to my home tonight so meet me there after sending her home", Saba ordered and made her way out of the room. The cries of the newborn echoed and the nurse came to tell Alyana the main things about an infant. Emaad was sitting still listening to everything.

Alyana's pov:

When the nurse walked out of the room leaving me and Emaad alone along with my little flower laying in the baby coat. I glanced at Emaad who slept and his head was resting back on the chair as he laid on the chair by lowering his back. His words are still playing in my head. He really said those words.

"Emaad", I said all of a sudden. I needed to hear him, the polite him. I want to embrace him but the fact that I was a fool to fall for a man who used me for nothing but for his business. His mother used me for her work and she hates when Emaad gives me importance. "E-Emaad", I called him again and this time he hummed in response. I moved towards him a little as he was sitting close to the bed where I was. My hand reached his hair. I let my fingers touch his soft hair that were straight and smooth. I didn't knew why I desired for him even though he hurt me everytime.

"What... are you doing...", he said in a tired voice still not opening his eyes.

"Sleep here", I spoke as I touched his hand and tapped on it. He moved my hand away slightly. It hurt but I ignored. I was his wife, I can't give up.

"I am fine her-", I interrupted him.

"Come on, there's an hour left before I discharge", I said hopelessly. I was ready to hear the tantrum he throws but got shook when he looked up and straightened himself. He stood up and moved towards me. I could feel him looking at me and my heart bounced. I made space for him with a wince. The stitches were no help. He sat down beside me and it was obvious that I blushed regardless of all the toxicity he spat earlier. "Lay down and sleep, I will wake you up", I said avoiding an eye contact.

"Aren't you ashamed of doing this all Alyana?", he asked as he laid down.

"Emaad I am not in for a debate right now. You are a father now. Not as a wife but at least give me respect as I am your daughter's mother too", I stated. I looked at him and he was looking at me. He started laughing like a maniac at my words.

"Cool", he said with a serious face. I ignored answering him and laid next to him but our bodies didn't touched. I winced as laying down was even more painful. I looked at my daughter who was sleeping peacefully. I was already in love with her.

The drip that was attached to my hand was the reason why I was here for another hour. I closed my eyes but didn't realised when sleep took over me. I was tired that's why.
