Alyana's pov:

What's with this noise?

What is it, it is ear piercing.

Wait-

"Oh my baby", I shot opened my eyes and sat up immediately. With a swift turn I held the squirming and whimpering baby in my arms. The moment I held her, her voice grew more louder. I vould hear 'tchs and sighs' from my so called husband. "Shhh mommy is here", I spoke. I laid her on my lap and swung my leg up and down slowly. I looked here and there to realise I have to give her the baby formula for these days. Her bag was on the dressing table and I had to stand on my own. "Emaad", I called. No response. "Emaad", I called again but still got no response. My hand reached his shoulder and soon I shook him, "EMAAD". He groaned as he sat up with a halt and looked at me with anger seeping through his sharp gaze.."I-Don't look at me like that", I said.

"Why are you waking me up?", he asked seriously.

"Please hand that tin to me", I pointed towards the dressing table where the formula was. He clenched his jaw but stood up and went to the dressing table, grabbing the tin and walking back to the bed. "Wait, don't sit", I stopped him midway. He stopped in his track, giving me a 'what us your problem' look. I bit my lip.

"Why?", He put his either hands on his waist.

"Please hold her I need to prepare milk for her", I said as I stood with wobbly legs but soon balanced myself. His eyes almost popped out as I walked towards him with my newborn.

"Alyana I can't- you know she's too small I can't hold her", He protested as he moved back. I closed my eyes as I could feel my head aching from the situation.

"Emaad sit, Hold her and do not move it's the least I can suggest right at thus moment", I stated the fact. Emaad groaned like a kid. I had no capacity left to even say something more. Emaad cooperated and held my lil doll in his arms, not that he held her but I adjusted all his arms and made an equilibrium.

"Come within a minute".

8 MONTHS have passed since that day Emaad helped me. The next day he hired a maid to help me. He got allot busier that he comes home late and goes to sleep the moment he lays on the bed. We named our daughter Alaya. It was not Emaad's but my choice. I love that name. Alaya is not so familiar with her father as he just comes home for sleeping.

"Mumma", Alaya giggled. I picked her up from her prime and kissed on her cheek. Evil were my thoughts thinking how I was going to give Emaad a taste of his own medicine.

I walked in the building where Emaad worked. I asked the receptionist for his office and she told me the way. Walking with a prime in the elevator, people gave me awkward glares. I ignored it all, firstly, It was something new. Secondly, A totally covered woman in Abaya creeps people here in America. I ignored the whisper and murmurs. The doors of the elevator opened right infront of Emaad's office. I walked to the front with Alaya giggling and squealing as she saw the outside world after a long time. I knocked on the wooden door, with MR.EMAAD REHMAN engraved on the metal board on the door. I heard 'come in'. I immediately opened the door and slammed it close after entering. I turned around and could see a confused look on Emaad's face until he saw Alaya and realised that this covered women was her so called wife.

"What are you doing here?", He stood from his seat, his forehead crinckled. I slipped my niqab (cloth that covers the nose and mouth of a woman) down.

"Alaya wanted to meet you", I said as I picked Alaya from the prime and walked towards Emaad with Alaya looking at Emaad with puppy eyes.

"SHE CAN MEET ME AT HOME TOO", He lost his patience.

"Lower your voice Emaad, I am your wife", I said walking close to him giving him a death glare. He at first was shocked to see this side of me but soon he had his side lip going upside.

"So now you'll tell me what to do and what not?", He said moving closer to me and I moved back with Alaya in my arms.  He came more closer until my back hit the wall. His eyes staring into mine with power. I gulped. "Did Alaya wanted ro meet me or you?", He said, his breath hitting my face. I freezed in my tracks. Our baby was sandwiched between us. He anticipatedly looked in my eyes to get an answer. I looked down as I had nothing to say. He pinned his hand beside my shoulder and lowered. He kissed Alaya on her cheek. I immediately looked up not believing what I saw. He reached her little body and took her in his arms. My hands fell down and a tear rolled down from my eyes. I wanted to slap myself for getting weak all of a sudden. More tears fell and I tried not to let him know but soon a sniffle echoed in his office which made him look at me.

"Don't look here", I said turning around and trying to wipe my tears away but couldn't when I was turned around a strong grip on my shoulder. I loomed down and sniffled more.

"What are you? A 5 month old?", Emaad said as he looked at me. I didn't answered. "Alaya your mommy is still a kid, look at her she's crying", He said to Alaya and Alaya gibberished in response.

"I am going hom-", I was about to hold Alaya as I stretched my arms but Emaad moved back, pulling her towards him. Alaya chuckled happily thinking he was swinging her. I got angered.

"Sit down", Emaad held my wrist and pulled me towards his seat at which he sat before. He sat on the table, right infront of me.

"Let me go, there's nothing we can sit and talk about", I said with a sob.

"Alyana", I heard his deep voice laced with seroiusness. I stopped saying whatever I was about to say. "Look up at me", he ordered. I looked up at him. His eyes looked into mine and soon I found my gaze dispersing into his. "I need to tell you something but not now", He spoke still looking at me. I sighed.

"You need divorce, righ-".

"NO! Don't even think of it", He frowned. I scrunched my brows.

"Am I a puppet? What is the purpose of marrying me Emaad. You don't even act like a husband. Alaya needs to recognize and love you as her father. She needs your attention. You still want to let me be your wife when you don't even love us", I stood up and was about to snatch Alaya from his embrace when he pulled me towards himself from my wrist. My head buried in his chest and I felt the world stop around me.

"I am sorry". I at first thought it was just my mind until I looked up and found his eyes shining, recflecting guilt.

"I don't need a sorry", I spoke. His hand reached my waist as he pulled me closer. Alaya just slipped out of his embrace and sat on the table getting busy playing with the pens.

"You need a kiss?", He said lowering his head as he cupped my cheek.

"Emaad I-", I was about to pull myself out of his grip when he pecked on my lips. I froze.
