They moved through the wreck of the town quickly as they waited for the Imperial soldiers to move away from a gate so that they could escape both quickly and quietly out of the town. The Imperial soldiers continued to fight the dragon. When the dragon finally moved toward the Keep, Polaris made her move with Shadow March and Locket. The three of them got rid of any Imperial soldiers that tried to stop them before they got to the gate. As soon as they had reached the gate the five of them ran away not looking back at the town that was being destroyed by a dragon. They kept running until they reached a river that was down the hill and safely away from the dragon and the Imperials.
“I don’t know about you but I’m ready to get back to Jorrvaskr,” Polaris said as they followed the direction of the river going towards Riverwood where Polaris had some friends. Locket looked at Polaris suspiciously.
“After we get to Riverwood I’m going to head back to Riften. I have been away for too long and I need to get back before I find my guild in flames,” Locket said from the back of the group. Polaris laughed.
“Pretty poor excuse for a guild if you ask me. Haven’t stolen a piece of gold in years from what I’ve heard,” Polaris said as they came to a path and started to walk along it. Locket muttered something under her breath as Polaris laughed, “Come on then speak up, I don’t have all day now do I?”
“I can’t make it back to Riften back by myself. Could you help me back to Riften?” Locket said as quietly as possible but loud enough so that she could be heard by Polaris. Polaris looked at the girl with a smile.
“As you wish, but it will be under my terms and under my conditions as to how you will return home and as to how I will take you there,” She said this as she folded her arms over her chest. Her outfit rose up her legs slightly with the movement showing the many scars on her legs off.
“You have a deal companion. I need to return before you go to soverngarde though, swear upon it, swear a blood honour upon it,” Locket said pulling out a dagger from a bag that she had around her waist. With it she held out her arm holding the dagger. Polaris did the same with her own blade both holding their gaze with one another. The others stood to the sides keeping out of range of the blade. Kesh on the other hand, well she kneeled by the river trying to catch salmon with her hands… odd one indeed.
“An honour I shall keep, to the death,” Polaris said as they both cut into their skin and as soon as they had gotten blood onto the tip of both their daggers they traded and did the same to the other blade. At the end they put the daggers back into their packs intending to keep it until the agreement was upheld. Jondeir looked at the two with wide eyes and Shadow March looked over her talons looking bored, meanwhile at the river Kesh held up her prized salmon starting to lick it before making a sour face and throwing it back in the river.
“Gross! It tastes like fish! And not the good kind,” Kesh said as she moved back from the riverbank to the others and started to clean her claws like an ordinary cat. Both Polaris and Locket looked to the Kajhit and shook their head at their cat ally. They didn’t know what to do with the young kitty-cat.
“So when are we getting rid of the others?” Locket asked as they started to walk to the close by village not caring that the others could still hear them. Polaris shook her head.
“Don’t care, when they feel like walking or can no longer keep up we’ll get rid of them, somehow,” Polaris said as they started to walk into the town of Riverwood. As Kesh walked down the road behind the others an old lady came out of nowhere and gripped her rags.
“A dragon! A dragon! I saw a dragon!” She yelled into Kesh’s face loudly. The others stopped and turned to look at the old woman while a young man came over and pulled the woman off of Kesh
“Not now mother, go back to the house. No need to make a companion angry. I am sorry for this companion” The man said as Polaris held her hand up.
“Don’t fear it. Your mother has done nothing wrong. Come along now Kesh, we’ll be late otherwise,” Polaris said as they started to walk down to a tavern but turned before it and started walking down a bridge towards the lumber mill.
