Chapter 2

Lyria pov:

Uh what-

No

No...

Aghghhghghgg

Fuck it

The man, no scratch that, this child is the most annoying idiot. He is rambling on about guys named Cassian and Azriel and from what I have heard so far they also sound like idiots. We have been walking for about 5 minutes, maybe more? I don't know... but he is just complaining about how he's tired, and then on top of that he won't SHUT UP.

He is so stupid.

Why universe...why.

"Would you just shut up!?" I wish I had been louder, it's fun scaring him.

"Um-yes?" He stopped walking and just stared at me.

"Is there a reason why?" He had the fucking audacity to ask.

"Huh? You seriously asking that? I mean you're an idiot so of course you are." This man omg I am going to punch him, or something else...I honestly can't decide yet.

"No...never mind" He mumbles quietly and then miraculously shuts up.

Oh the sweet bliss of silence how I have missed you.

We keep walking and from what I can see we are in a forest and by the looks of it, it is well traveled with well worn footpaths and sadly many many broken branches on the trees. I have kept to the side of the forest, If we got lost in here that would be bad, but I had started to pay less attention causing us to veer closer into the heart of the forest. I steer us out to the edge again and this time seeing through the trees a river.

That's weird...usually you can hear a river before you see it, but come to think of it I haven't been able to hear much at all.

I turned around slowly and the boy man idiot person stood behind me looking confused on why we had stopped.

"What is wrong wha-"

"Shut up idiot" he shut up.

The lack of one of your senses is so odd. You can still hear and you can still see, but you can't hear. Shockingly, that is one of the most important senses.

"What do you hear?"

He stares at me with confusion "What?"

"What do you hear, nothing right?"

"I mean I hear you, but we're in a dead forest, so there is obviously not going to be sound here...like duhh"

"What?" I don't like now having the information, this idiot knowing more than me is an issue.

"Well sometimes when a forest gets really really really reaaaallllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy old it dies, and not just the trees and creatures who live there to, but also the wind and water that goes through it so it becomes a dead forest and usually completely silent" he stops for a minute before adding "The fact that that knowledge came in useful is astounding I never thought it would, thank pops."

He looked up at the sky and tried to beat his fist to his chest but ended up hitting his own ass and squealing. This man is an idiot.
