In the house, was a woman. She had barricaded herself in her room. At least 5 locks adorned the door and a myriad of items were present to keep the supernaturals at bay. Of course this woman was crazy. Everyone knew she was crazy. When she'd come to town covered in bites and scratches, everyone knew it must have been the neighborhood dog.
Of course no one had seen the dog, but what else howled in the night? It couldn't be a werewolf. Everyone knew there were no such things as werewolves. Everyone knew when they heard screaming from the woman's house, it was just her television. The fact that everyone also locked their door was purely a coincidence.
So what if the neighbors left raw meat in the woman's bushes. Where else were they to put the meat? If the dog so happened to leave the neighbors alone, when there was meat in the woman's yard, so be it.
Besides, everyone knew the woman was crazy.
