A beautiful august sunset was a perfect picture of the gorgeous late summer in Geneva. Lucia sighed happily, seated in the grass up the hill of the meadow, right behind the stables of the castle. Their little boy was craddled to her chest as she was breastfeeding him. Matteo Schumacher of Geneva was their pride, and he carried the same heavenly blue eyes as his father, the same mop of blonde hair as Mick. Lucia looked down at him with a smile, her finger gliding across his chubby cheek as he drank, his little fingers squeezing into his fist every now and then. Lucia gave birth a little over two months ago. While it was the toughest thing she had ever done in her life, the moment their baby was cleaned, inspected and declared healthy, and she could finally hold him, all that pain was long forgotten. Lucia clearly remembers the way Mick looked at them while she was holding Matteo against herself, wrapped in blankets, shushing the baby when he started to cry. Mick had been over the moon that they got a baby boy, and there wasn't a day where he longed for the moment he could start riding with him, teach him all the things his father taught him as well.
Lucia looked up when the sound of hooves galloping their way came from the distance. Mick had been out on patrouille with the soldiers at the border. Ever since the war with Bern, Mick remained close to the General, and he was included in all decisions the army made. Soon, the large Frisian horse came in sight, Mick's red cape with the weapon of Geneva waving in the wind behind him. The sight was stunning, and she loved waiting for him here, right before Matteo would be brought to bed for his nap. Matteo turned his head away, he was full. Lucia covered herself again, and she made sure he was tucked into the blanket properly. The ground was shaking when Elias approached them, and Mick slowed down the horse. Lucia remained seated in the grass anyway, she wasn't scared of Elias running them over. Elias slowly stepped their way when he heard her voice, his ears perked up. He sniffed around her feet, around the blanket of the little baby. Lucia admired how the horse seemed to notice the little human in her arms, and his nose softly moved over Matteo's hair, blowing warm air that made the baby squeal, his eyes opening bright and a smile showed up on his face.
"My loves," Mick greeted them, swinging his leg over the saddle and then jumping down. Elias sniffled Lucia's cheek, and she smiled, kissing the horse's nose. Mick loosely held the reins while sitting down in the grass next to them. Mick moved some of her hair over her shoulder, before leaning forward and kissing her tenderly. Mick cooed at their son, and Lucia handed him over to his father. Matteo's eyes were still bright, happy to see his daddy. "There's my little prince," Mick told him, scooping him up into his arms, and kissing his cheek multiple times. "How was your day?" Mick asked. "It was alright, Gina and I went out for a walk with Matteo," Lucia said. "Everything alright at the borders?" She asked then. "Perfectly fine," Mick smiled. "I'm glad you're home, though," Lucia muttered, leaning her head on his shoulder, looking at their baby boy in his arms. His eyes started to get droopy, and it wouldn't take long before he fell asleep. The sunset was gorgeous, and the summer evening was still warm. "So am I, darling," Mick replied, kissing her temple.
"It's time to head inside," he said next, and he carefully placed Matteo back in Lucia's arms, so he could take Elias to the stables. "I'll take him to bed now," Lucia said. "I'll join in a few, alright?" Mick said, to which she nodded. Lucia got up from the grass and crossed the court yard to get inside of the castle. Matteo's crib was put in their room, so they could keep an eye on him all night, and feed him when they needed to. Matteo had already fallen asleep in her arms, so Lucia only had to get him in bed. The maids opened the door of their room for her, and Lucia brought him to his little crib. She held him against her chest and hummed a little lullaby before she laid him down on the soft blankets, and gently tucked him in. Mick quietly approached them, his arm curling around Lucia's waist. He looked down into the crib, satisfied to see the baby already asleep in his bed. "What a wonderful bundle of life," Mick softly said. Lucia looked up at him with a smile. His hands caressed her face before he kissed her. "He's going to become the king you are," Lucia said. Mick's smile widened, and he nuzzled his nose against hers as he pecked her lips once more.
Mick watched her as she leaned over the crib once more to adjust one of the blankets. These two people formed his whole world, and while he looked over them, the crown on his head was glowing, the weapon of the Geneva fluttering on the flag in the wind. His love for Lucia neverending, and the birth of their was the most joyful thing he had experienced. He's their king, and he would do anything to keep them safe.

A/N: Aweee guys, the end of the fairytale of Lucia and Mick! I thought about writing a 25th chapter, but the end of the last chapter felt more complete, and I didn't want to add more and 'ruin' the storyline. I loved writing this kind of AU and I felt like Mick formed a perfect Prince & King.
