Part 2 My Secret

I closed the front door and made my way to the family room I sing songed I'm ho-ome, "Mommy mommy my four year old twins rushed over tackling me onto the floor, I laughed ruffling their hair as each of them hugged me exuberantly looking into their blue-gray eyes,I felt a pang of deep seated regret I wished they could have known their father, but he never wanted kids, so I left him when I found out I was pregnant. I was independent and strong enough to raise them without him, and I was very proud of them they were so loving and kind hearted they knew I loved them unreservedly they never had cause to doubt that they came first and foremost in my thoughts and affections.

"Mommy we had a great day at school, we did drawings of familys', houses and picnics" Marcus said, he was older than Matthew by a few minutes. "Mommy when are we going to meet our daddy?' asked Matthew suddenly.

I gasped never expecting that, Oh God, oh God what do I say to them I thought panicking briefly " Um honey I don't know as yet, Why did you ask me that Matthew?"

"We are having father-son day at school before our Spring Break, right Marcus?" he asked his older brother for confirmation. "Yes, that's right! and Ms Bubble said she wants to talk to you and our father about some things". Marcus rejoined saying.

"Okay, tell your teacher that I will come and talk to her tomorrow when I pick you up from school, now what do you boys want for dinner?". I said quickly changing the topic. "How about a cheesy lasagne with minced beef and the works, and chocolate pudding for desert?"

"Yay, yay Mommy you are the best, thats our favorite!". they said in unision

I laughed at them and left for the kitchen, "Kitty are you staying for dinner?". I asked my babysitter 

"No Ms Taylor I have a date at six".  She said blushing

"A date, with who Brett?".  "Oh Kitty I'm so happy for you!". "How did it happen and where is he taking you?"

"I was walking home yesterday and he offered me a ride, then we started talking about school and I told him I needed help with Math, he said he would tutor me for free if I accepted a date with him, I couldn't believe it! he actually asked me out! Me Kathryn Russo!". Kitty said smiling and hugging herself delightedly.

I laughed as prepared our dinner "well have a great time, and please tell me if he isn't a gentleman and I will straighten him out". I said smirking at her 

Kitty blushed scarlet to my amusement, while I laughed out at her reaction. "I will be picking the boys up from school tomorrow, so wait for us at the park then we can go out and have some ice-cream then you can take them home ok?".

"Ok Ms Taylor, see you tomorrow". She said and left through the back door and rode off on her bike.

After dinner I read to the boys and tucked them in, then reviewed my schedule for the next day and got some work done on my laptop replied to a few emails and make some bookings for prospective places that I could view as wedding sites...
