Jaxs POV
"Fucking hell , I am never that far in my life ever again" I said panting as I put my hands on my knees and Binx jumped off of my shoulder
"whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Come on, this is a graveyard" max stated as we got to the graveyard and looked at the gate
"Really? No shit max" I said blowing my shirt in and out on my body to stop sweating
"It's hallowed ground. Witches can't set foot here" Binx explained after sending me a look
"He talks" I said as Allison , Max and Dani looked at me weirdly
"Follow me!" Binx said jumping through the gate as Allison went with Dani and Max behind her as I closed the gate and followed them
"Over here . I want to show you something. Give you an idea of exactly what we're dealing with" Binx said and then jumped on Billy's grave
"William butcherson? Lost soul?" Max asked reading over his grave
"Billy butcherson was Winifred's lover but she found him sporting with her sister , Sarah. So she poisoned him and sewed his mouth shut with a dull needle , so he couldn't tell her secrets even in death. Winifred always was the jealous type" Binx explained
"You're Thackeray Binx" Allison stated and Binx nodded
"Yes, I'm surprised Jax here didn't tell you" He said looking at me as I looked away like I knew nothing
"So the legends are true" Allison said and I nodded my head
"Well, come along. I want to show you something else" Binx said and jumped off of Billy's grave as he walked ahead of us and Max and Dani walked ahead of me and Allison
"Why didn't you tell me?" Allison asked and I shrugged and ran my hand through my hair
"I don't know , how do you tell someone youre friends with a talking cat?" I asked her and she scoffed
"I just thought you trusted me more than that" She said
" I do Allison but this wasn't something easy" I told her and that's when she pushed it
"What like it wasn't easy when your parents left so you left me?" She asked out of anger and I snapped my head to her
"Too far, Allison too fucking far" I said and then walked ahead leaving her
I sat down near Binx as he sat on Emily's grave and started to talk
"Because of me, my little sister's life was stolen. For years I waited for my life to end, so I could be reunited with my family but Winifred's curse of immortality kept me alive. Then one day I figured out what to do with my eternal life. Now, I'd failed Emily but I wouldn't fail again. When Winifred and her sisters returned, I'd be there to stop them. So for 3 centuries I guarded their house with Jax on All Hallows' night , when I knew some airhead virgin might light that candle" Binx said and I laughed softly at the end of it
"You guarded it with him?" Max asked me and I nodded
"Well yeah, I didn't want them coming back and Binx was lonely. I wanted to help" I said and Binx nudged me with his nose
"I'm happy you did guard it with me" he said to me ignoring max and Dani's banter in the background
"Nice going, Airhead" I heard Dani say and I couldn't help but laugh
"Hey, look, I'm sorry, okay?" max said and ran a hand through his hair
"I'm sorry I got here late" I told Binx and he sighed
"It's okay, you're here now and you can help me beat the sisters once and for all" he said and I smiled at him
"I sure hope so" I said and tuned into what max was saying
"We're talkin about three ancient hags versus the 20th century. How bad can it be?" He asked and Allison started to open the book
"Bad" me and Binx said and that's when I noticed the book being opened
"ALLI DONT" I said rather loudly as Binx yelled at her
"Stay out of there" he said and she slammed the book shut
"Why?" She asked
"It holds Winifred's most dangerous spells. She must not get it" Binx said and max grabbed the book from Allison
"Well, let's torch the sucker" he said and dropped it as he lit the lighter
"It's protected by magic , dumbass" I said and max put the lighter that I had handed him away
We then heard the sisters laughing from above and gasped as we stood up. Dani grabbed my side as max grabbed hers and Allison grasped my hand in hers
I felt two squeezes and knew what it meant. It was like Morris code for me and Allison
1 squeeze: I'm 2 squeeze: sorry
I squeezed back
1 squeeze: it's 2 squeeze : okay
And we reeled back from the sisters
God I really hope this doesn't end the way I know it will
