there's a thin line between love and hate. each are a type of passion, they each fuel people. each requires a past, something to build it up. each are emotions that every human will feel, whether thats towards a person, a concept, an object at some point in their life. yet one fills the heart with joy, one fills the heart with anger. infact, one is easier to accept than the other. a human can accept they hate someone easily, yet we don't treat love the same. for most love is something to be feared of, to bring up your walls and protect yourself from. we see love in the movies and ponder why it is so easy for these characters to feel it but we can't. but the truth is we can, but we chose the love we think we deserve. and growing up in a hateful society which drills ideology we aren't good enough from a young age into our heads makes it difficult for most to think they deserve anything at all. what makes love even harder, is when that love isn't man and woman. but any other gender combination. though we like to think we are progressive because teens behind a screen tell us that it's okay to be anything different from straight, society isn't those people. society is a majority and a majority don't think like that at all. we see queer people being demonised on tv and by the governments, we see lack of representation, sometimes even family showing opinions like this in their own households. that suppresses any feelings a child may have that aren't heteronormative from a young age. yet we wonder why we can't love, why we hate ourselves, and why we suppress our identity.
