(A/N) Thanks for giving my story a chance! Enjoy!)

It was so strange. For monsters to be up here on the surface with us I mean. Honestly 99% of humanity thought monsters were just a legend to scare children into behaving before they all just showed up in the middle of my little concert. You could imagine the shock all of us were in when they walked down the hill. Everyone eirther ran or froze in fear and awe. For a while it was silent... Tension and nervousness laying over the atmosphere. It was getting unbearable. Each race drinking in appearances and fearing for their lives. Slowly. Slowly my feet find their way to the biggest monster, a tall goat man. The leader I'd guess from the way his clothes stuck out from the others. My heart was pounding, everything screaming in me to turn back but he showed no sign of a threat. If anything he looked as scared of me as I was of him! He bent down in order to look into my eyes better. I swear he's about 7 feet tall. With a big gulp I speak. "H-hello. I'm (Y/N)." Extending my hand he stiffens, heasitates and finally reached his hand out to shake them. His hand-paw?- was so soft and warm it practically swallowed my hand! We shook a couple times before slowly letting go. I don't blame him for being scared. Thinking of what we did in the Great War I would have been scared to after confronting the very beings that locked them away in the first place. After a moment he finally responded. His voice deep and athoritive but warming at the same time and his smile was enough to calm anyone down in an instant. "Erm. Welcome back to the surface?" I spoke slowly, hoping this wouldn't open sore wounds but I really had no idea what else to say.
"Thank you." He said, the tension eased ever so slightly. "It is nice to see the sun again." I felt a pain in my chest. It hurt to know our kind had done this to them. These monsters were so sweet and kind. My legs are beginning to shake. I have never been good for conversations and by now everyone has settled down enough to see what was going on. "We were... In the middle of a concert." I began again. Trying to keep from stuttering. "If you come in peace... Would you like to join?" What are you doing?! This is so stupid! 'If he comes in peace' honestly (Y/N) if they wanted to hurt you by now they would! His eyes lit up in delight and nodded. "I would love to." Then turned to address his people. "Let this be the beginning of a new Era!" Cheers erupted from the monsters and gradually the humans to. This is how May 1st became the anniversary for humans and monsters to live in harmony.

(Quick disclaimer this song does not belong to me but Taylor swift. Check I out on youtube.)

Everyone sat down in front of the tree stump I was sitting on and picked up my guitar. Nerves began to build up in my stomach. I had never performed with such a big crowd before and espically not in front of monsters. The pressure was real. I had to play this perfectly to impress everyone. "This song is dedicated to my family it's called Our Song." After a moment I drew in a breath and began to sing.

I was ridin' shotgun with my hair undone
In the front seat of his car
He's got a one hand feel on the steering wheel
The other on my heart

The monsters all looked captivated by my voice. It filled me with DETERMINATION.

I looked around turned the radio down
He says "Baby is something wrong?"
I say "Nothin' I was just thinkin' how we don't have a song." And he says

I admit I should be focusing on the song but it's a little hard to. I couldn't help taking in the monsters appearances. They ranged from all shapes and sized. From fluffy goat men to smaller animals like dinosaurs and fish woman.

Our song is the slamming screen door
Sneakin' put late tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
Cuz' it's late and your mama don't know
Our song is the way you laugh
The first date: "Man I didn't kiss her, and I should have"
And when I got home 'fore I said amen
Asking God to play it again
