"I need your help with something, Blue- Felix Argyle."
Jeremy stated with crescent eyes, and a smile as Felix sat frozen in surprise.
"And you can't say no, okay? Your dear friends' lives are in our hands you see."
He chuckled as he said with confidence. The demi-human knight remained silent.
"If that isn't enough to convince you, then I might also tell you about your lady and various guests present in the hall above our head are also-"
"I'll do it."
Felix sternly said, but it was apparent from his eyes gleaming in resentment that he was far from happy to do it.
The Baron's ashen-coloured eyes shone brightly as he smiled like a child whose unreasonable request had been heard. He immediately had one of the servants on standby to free Felix from the chains.
Felix sat with blank eyes as the handcuffs were unlocked with loud clanking noises. He rubbed his now free arms and got up. The Baron gestured him to follow him, to which he quietly obliged.
This is just like that time...being forced to do something as Crusch-sama is taken as a hostage. But this time it isn't just her, many lives are on the line...
He followed the blue-haired baron to a wide space, bounded by a circular wall covered in mana stones that shone in a bright yellow. There was a platform in the middle of the expanse which resembled an altar. Felix was now quite sure about what the Baron will be asking him to do.
"Over there...my dear fiancee is resting."
As expected, this is probably going in that direct-
"She passed away a few months ago due to a tragic incident."
I knew it.
Felix sighed at the ironic replay of similar events of the past and walked up some stairs to see a glass coffin placed at the centre. Inside it, was a young lady with brown hair. She had a pale, frozen face, and her lips were pursed tight, as were her eyes.
The coffin seemed to be equipped with fire mana stones that regulated the temperature of the interior, preserving the body.
The girl looked relatively normal than he had expected. She was like any other girl you will find in the town. Even if it weren't for the fact that she was dead, it was easy to see that she was a commoner.
The next words that come from Jeremy made Felix shudder.
"Immortal king's sacrament."
He felt his throat dry up even though he was expecting it, as his brows pulled into a frown.
"That is an ancient spell handed down in the Argyle family, no? I heard about it from a friend of mine in the palace. About how your father tried to revive your mother through that spell."
"...First of all, they aren't...my family. At least Ferri-chan doesn't consider them to be. Secondly, if you know about that incident, then you should also know that the spell doesn't work. Its very root is flawed."
Felix calmly explained with a hint of frustration. To this, Jeremy slightly tilted his head with a smile. An ominous feeling welled up inside him.
"Don't worry about that. I have found a perfect solution to that problem. You cast the spell once to raise your mo- my apologies, Hannah Argyle, from death. Only for her to crumble into ashes after a few mere moments. I suppose the main problem was that the soul couldn't stay-"
