Deamflum
(n.)the dreamy and calm-like state while listening to a natural waterfall.
AGNAR
The forest erupted in flames around us. Caspian's dagger slashed the side of my arm.
The flames were cooling, soft music played around us. I felt myself falling asleep.
"Fight it! Do not surrender," I heard Caelum's voice as I succumbed to darkness.
...
ACELINE
I woke to a flowery scent and warmth. Rubbing my eyes, I sat up assessing my surroundings. Delicate white curtains were draped around the bedding. I could hear water flowing somewhere in the distance. A big assortment of fruits was placed next to the bedding along with a shallow bowl of silvery liquid.
"Oh, you are awake." said a squeaky voice.
Frantically grabbing a knife I looked around.
"Down here!" it said again.
My eyes went wide. Dryadalis. A dress hugged her doll-like figure, the red fabric a bright contrast to her porcelain skin. Her dark hair tightly coiled into a loose braid resting on her shoulder. Her pointy ears and nose were covered in soft blush.
Unbelievable. Dryadalis, elfish creatures disappeared during the Great War.
"Sit back down, please. You are hurt." she squeaked.
"My friends, where are they."
"Don't worry, they are outside. The one with the huge stick looked very hungry we invited them into our festival."
"Festival?"
"Yeah, come with me! But walk slowly because you hurt your leg..."
Omg, how adorable.
...
We walked through a long hallway like structure. Anari, the elf opened a huge set of double doors, how she did that with such a tiny body I had no idea.
I watched as the doors opened to reveal a beautiful floral festival. Elves dancing around a bonfire. Eating and laughing.
Flowers swaying in the breeze and professor Caelum dressed in a long flowy coat with his mouth stuffed with... Cake?
"Aceline!" Caspian yelled, pulling me into a bone-crushing hug, " are you okay? You were crushed under this huge tree. How did you end up with only gauze around your foot?"
"How did we end up here?" I asked ignoring his nonsense.
"Not sure, the professor is trying to mingle with the elfin creatures, Dryadalis are they?"
I nodded.
"The chief won't say anything until the festival is over. Agnar is also trying to get information except he isn't wearing a coat 10 sized too big like Caelum."
"We have to wait then?"
"Well, we might as well enjoy," he said dancing along with the elves. "C'mon aceline!"
