Chapter Four Supposedly Dead Siblings, Groundings And A Runaway Feline

"What do you mean he's supposed to be dead???!? " I asked her a bit too loudly, So much so one or two randomers who were passing by stopped and stared at us, I rolled my eyes and stuck up my middle finger as i inhaled sharply.. "What's happening here folks is none of your business so kindly... Move along.." I spoke with a slightly irritated and cold tone of voice. They didn't seem bothered but thankfully did as i said and headed on their way. I inhaled a deep breath and looked at Eva once again. I rubbed her back gently to try and help comfort her. She tears up. her body trembling as i sat with her. She sniffs and finally speaks once more after rubbing her eyes on her pink jacket sleeve. She looks at me with her eyes red and puffy from crying as she speaks..".i..mean that.. My dad and i were told years ago..by a letter that he died in a car crash. But now he's here....How is it possible unless.....we were being lied to ?"Eva looked at me with her eyes filled with confusion, Her voice barely above a whisper, As if she didn't know what to say next. I didn't blame her, Id be too shocked to say much. So as i figured she wasn't going to talk, I decided it was my turn.
"Eva... Its going to be ok... And i know that people say that a lot but its true.." I tell her warmly, Trying to be reassuring. She sniffles and gulps as she looks at me and asks... "How do you know that??? Kora my brother who was supposed to be dead isn't!! And instead of being happy to see him i ran away like a coward!" She slightly yells, I instinctively flinch but shake my head. She notices my flinch and sniffs .. "Sorry... I didn't mean to yell.. I just..." I smile weakly and pull her in for a hug. "I know... That its going to be ok because.. Your the kindest person Ive ever met...You can handle this.. Besides your brother didn't exactly say much either... So its ok.. Things will work themselves out.. And until they do.... I'm here.." As i finished speaking Eva sniffles and hugs me back...
Kora.. I....She gulps and puts on the kind of smile i knew all too well...

A fake one.....

"Its ok.. Eva you don't have to pretend your fine around me... " I told her gently. She smiles weakly and gets up. I follow her." Maybe we can talk about this tommrow.. At school.. Uh.. Can you meet me there early? Say.. Uh.. 8.30? So we can talk about this stuff? That is.. If you still wanna hang out with me?"Eva asks me. I smiled and nodded. "Of course eva... My house is this way.. "So.. See you tommorow?"I asked as she nods and with one final hug we both head our seperate ways. I head in the direction of home as does eva, It felt good having a girl freind. Not as in realtionship wise. As in freindship wise, Samuel was of course my best freind but... I gasped as i came to the realisation. I had left him waiting for me at lunch. Oh gods he was gonna kill me tommorow! I sighed feeling guilty as i finally walked in the front door, There was aunt sarah. Her arms folded. Lucifer was standing at her feet next to her.

"You were supposed to come straight home when school was finished..."

I sighed deeply, Putting a hand to my head. "Aunt sarah not now.. Please.. " i groaned as i had experienced a hard enough day. What with ditching samuel. The stuff that happened at the address, At this point i wanted to just eat and go to bed. I didnt want to have the importance of opening up talk. Aunt sarah was great and all but. I just wanted to be alone. For a moment i think aunt sarah might actually leave me alone for once she shakes her head and puts a hand on her hips.

"Yes now. kora.. You need to tell me what happened last night"...My aunt sarah looks at me.pleadingly, but i needed to keep in mind she would leave me someday,Just as everyone else had done before her. I shrugged "nothing happened at last nights party aunt sarah.. Im fine.." i told her looking away, She looks at me carefully and then says.." If your fine then why cant you look at me?" She asks me smiling a bit. I sighed and looked at her. "Im fine aunt sarah.. " i gulped back a lot of tears. Even though i knew she was going to leave me. I still didnt like having to lie to her. She raised an eyebrow at me.

"You dont look fine.. " She goes to the staircase and sits on it. She pats the seat next to her. I sighed deeply and sat next to her. She pulls me in close and starts hugging me. I gulped back tears again. I didnt say anything. I just sat there and listened to her talk about life. It was nice. "Ive had quite a crazy day aunt sarah.. I just... " She nods understandingly". I get it.. Highschool is a whirlwind of emotions.." Happiness.. Sadness.. Love... Speaking of that hows things going with you and ross??" She asks me. I sighed deeply..." I dont wanna talk about him ok?" Aunt sarah looks confused but shakes it off. "Alright.. I don't know what's going on between you two but everything always works out the way its supposed to. Just always Remember that sweety ok?" i smile as best i can and nod. "So. Am i still grounded?" i asked as she nods "yeah.. Only for two weeks though" I nodded. That's fair. I walk up the stairs and head to my room and collapse onto my bed exhaustedly. Everything that had happened today swirling through my brain. First with meeting Eva, Then the letter and the address, And then that Devilish guy showing up out of no where, Acting like he was my father when that was clearly bullocks! I just hoped tomorrow would be a lot less weird,

Suddenly i hear a rat a tat tat on the window. I approach it and see Samuel

waiting at the other side of it. I sighed deeply as i opened the window. Letting him in. He looked upset and angry. I gulped, Oh boy.
"Hey.. Samuel.. About today.. I.." i started to say as he covers my mouth. He looks at me with anger and tears in his eyes. "You left me.. And went uptown with a girl you just met! What the hell??" he asked me angrily. I sighed and put his hands down from my mouth. "I know.. I've been a bad friend.. And im sorry... But it was a last minute thing.. And i do like her as a friend but.. Your my best friend Samuel remember?" i asked as he sighs and nodded. "I know.. I was just worried... Is this Eva girl nice? She better be... If she's just a nasty popular bit..."
I sighed and giggled at his over protectiveness.
"Samuel!!! She's not a bitch.. She got me lunch today" .. She's incredibly sweet. I can introduce you tomorrow if you like." I suggested. Samuel smiles a bit and nods "ok.. fine. But.. Where did you two go after school?" Samuel asked me. The very moment those words he says those very words my mouth goes dry, In my brain i contemplated whether i should tell him the truth or not. Should i?
I felt unsure, I wanted to tell him to give me some space but the intense look behind his eyes told me he wanted an answer and he wanted it within the next few seconds. I inhaled a deep breath and was all set to tell him the truth, But then i realised.. Me and eva could be getting ourselves into some preety serious shit with whatevers gonna happen tommorow at the address, We had been told to come back tommorow and we had agreed we would, And so i looked at samuel and spoke once more.
'Sameul.. Me and eva just went to her house after school.. We uh.. Hung out for a while.. But her family had plans so she had to bail and i just headed home so.. " i explained. Sameul looked surprised, but he nods.' Ok.. I beleive you.. Besides.. You wouldnt lie to me. Good ol korrs eh? ' He smiles, Ruffles my messy hair and climbs back out the window.

The minute hes gone, i tear up. Lucifer  the cat pounces onto my bed to comfort me. I sniffled as he purrs against my chin, Some of my tears get onto his shiny black fur coat. Once ive stopped crying he looks at me thoughtfully. I smiled at this and said. "What are you looking at Lu? .. " i asked him. Knowing id get no response, Suddenly i hear a male voice speak up. "Im looking at you, You! You idotic mortal! " He says crossly, I look around, Wondering who just spoke. But the only people here from what i could see were me and lucifer. It cant have been me. So that leaves...
I looked at lucifer again, After a few quite minutes i sigh to myself." Im losing it... I must have been hearing things. "I say shaking my head at myself for thinking for even a moment it might have been lucifer talking. As i lie down on my bed. Lucifer approaches me, His green eyes staring very intently into my blue eyes, He licks my face and then pounces from my bed to the window, And within a few more moments. He had ran out it, I looked at him confused as i approached the window and decidedly follow lucifer, Wondering where hes heading. Now i know cats are very independent animal's and like to explore on their own but lucifer didnt usually run off like this, I carefully slip out the window cautiously and follow behind him. Wondering where he was going, Lucifer runs through the garden and onto the main street, I follow him as after a while he heads into the house from earleir, This was confusing and slightly scary, Why did my cat know about this place? How did he know and Why was he here? I took a breath and followed him inside the back door, As i followed him he led me to a great hall, I gasped as i looked around it in awe, It looked like a training arena of some description, In the middle of the room there was a massive boxing ring, It was black and white with a Ying and Yang Symbol in the middle of the floor of the ring. There was also training dummys standing beside each other in rows of Five. There was about 6 rows of five dummys, Three rows on each side, There was also a wooden and metal Closet, I slowly entered to find Actual weapons. As in swords, Katanas, Battle Axes, They all looked centurys of years old.

I left the closet and closed it flabbergasted only to find three people staring at me, They were all in Pjayamas for some reason, I checked the time on my phone and my jaw slightly dropped only to see it was 12am in the morning. I also saw a familiar face, Eva!! I smiled happy to see her, She smiled and waved at me, The Boy next to Eva was the same guy who we had bumped into earleir, The one who Eva had referred to as her brother. He looked as if he truly didnt give a fuck who i was, His stupid smug little grin convinced me him and i probably wont get along, And finally the guy next to him was The old man Me and Eva had encountered when we came to this building earleir today.
Then i hear an annoying voice say my name.... A voice i didnt want to hear again...

"Kora? "
