UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER

Chapter 1

In the majestic garden of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the flowers were in full bloom. The moon was full and the place were illuminated by its mysterious and elegant lighting turning the whole place into something out of this world.

But Shawn Thompson was unable to admire its beauty, because the scene in front of him keeps on suffocating him.

Mysterious lights lit up the place, as a couple of familiar silhouettes embrace under a palm tree.

"Zeus..." The woman's voice was gentle and soft. Her arms wrapped around the handsome man's neck as she lay her head on his head intimately.

But the man seems thinking about something, and after some hesitation, he gently and slowly pushed her away.

When Zeus Stefano suddenly turn on Shawn Thompson's direction, he quickly hid under an oak tree, bringing his trembling hands over his mouth to muffle any curse he wanted to shout.

Then he heard him says, "Cristina, you said you're going to give me a surprise. What is it?"

Cristina Thompson's voice was sweet and her tone a little bit shy when she said, "Zeus, I'm pregnant."

At that moment, Shawn felt he has been struck by lightning. His world started crumbling. His eyes widen in horror and his face turn pale.

"What?!" Zeus sounded shocked too.

"Zeus I'm pregnant!" Cristina threw herself into his embrace hugging him, her face full of happiness. "I'm carrying your child. You're going to be a father soon. Are you happy?"

Zeus lowered his head, his brows furrowed. His face still shocked.

"How far along are you?"

"I checked with the doctor yesterday and he said I'm one month pregnant."

After she said that, Cristina slowly looked up and glanced at the place where Shawn was hiding. Her lips hooked up in a victorious smile, "It's probably the day when my brother went abroad for his photo shoot and we did it in your house.. That's probably when..."

A month ago? When he went abroad for his shoot?

But from what he could understand from their conversation their affair had been going on for a long time now. For a year? Or maybe more than that, Shawn couldn't understand what's going on anymore.

And then it hit him, and he felt like throwing up. He felt sick. Why he didn't notice before?

Cristina was still talking but he couldn't understand anymore. His mind was blank, and he felt empty.

After a while, Zeus suddenly said. "Let's go. We've been out here for too long. He'll get suspicious."

But not before Zeus took Cristina in his arms, the same arms that always hold Shawn, and kissed her passionately.

Shawn was pale as a sheet and his heart felt it was shredded in small pieces before it was ripped from his chest.

Through blood shot eyes, he saw Zeus gently held his step sister gently, as they walk toward his direction.

And when he saw them approaching, he run away in panic.

He felt dizzy and weak, and Shawn didn't know if it's from the alcohol he just drunk with his lover and step sister, or because of the truth he discovered about them.

He staggered on his feet, he didn't knew where he was, and he didn't care. Why would he? After what he'd just discovered, nothing matters to him anymore. Turning right to the next corner, he suddenly bump into a group of big muscled men clad in black.
