The Anubian Jackal is a black and gold jackal commonly attributed to the Egyptian God of Death, Anubis.

WHERE TO FIND

It is found only in Egypt, guarding pyramids from tomb robbers, as well as behaving normally.

APPEARANCE

The Anubian Jackal looks very similar to Anubis, with black and gold fur. It's cloth, teeth and claws are made of gold.

BEHAVIOR

Unlike normal jackals, they do not fear humans. They instead are very tolerant of humans. They will attack anyone trying to break into a tomb, and are severely powerful, with their golden claws and teeth. However, they will allow passage if the offender has to rob for the good of others, or if they are blessed by Anubis.

DIET

The Anubian Jackal is an omnivore, eating non-holy animals, which is hard to get, as very few animals are not symbols of Egyptian Gods, however, they will fiercely attack any cobras, as they are the sign of Apep. They also eat fruit.

SUBSPECIES

There is only one subspecies, the Anubian Jackal (L. Kifo), also known as mbwa-mwitu-wa-kifo (The Wolf of Death)

COMBAT

They are extremely hard to fight, due to gold, and are resistant to magic and ranged weapons. It is suggested to fight using a sword or axe.

CAN IT BE TAMED?

Yes. Those who have the blessing of Anubis will have an automatically tamed Anubian Jackal. Normally, it is suggested to offer them a diamond apple, as they enjoy them very much. Killing snakes will earn you their approval.

INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MAGICAL CREATURES

They seem to be in peace with most magical creatures, though they are mortal enemies with Nunda. Sphinxes are friendly with them, due to them providing additional service, and they respect the Bennu. The Tebo is prey, as well as the Fwooper.
