Crops and Glow Squid?

Day 5

Still in the forest.

I managed to climb a tree on a hill to see if I could get my bearings. Nothing but forest with river and stone outcroppings.

Spotted a spruce forest close by. Might go there to collect some more wood besides the regular oak and birch I've been surrounded by. Maybe get some saplings too. Also saw a dense forest with giant mushrooms not too far either. Not sure if I want to venture off that way, just yet.

I've decided to set up camp close to a shallow pond. Plenty of animals around and I found a good place to start a small crop field. It weirdly has some strange glowing squid in the watering hole I'm using as a source of water for the crops. Not sure where it came from, but it's not bothering me, so I don't bother it.

The crops are slow going with a small patch of wheat and a couple of melons. I found a pumpkin earlier today that I can use the seeds to add to the farm.

Just wish they could grow faster; I'm running low on food as is.

I'll need to start gathering materials for a proper shelter soon though. Right now, I've got a make-shift bed and a jimmy-rigged furnace that's working right now. Not to mention the campfire. Still, it would be nice to get a real roof over my head.

Will need to go mining for coal and iron again.

Always needing more coal and iron.

 - Fishing rod
