I open my eyes, blinking in the sudden light, and frowned. Matthew was in my arms last night when we went to sleep, so why isn't he in my arms right now? I stretched and got up, noticing that my curtain was open instead of closed like I had it last night. As my brain struggled out of it's sleep induced daze, I heard soft clanking in the kitchen. I plodded down the hallways and through the living room into the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen, I saw Matthew cooking something on the stove. I smiled and softly walked till I was right behind him before wrapping my arms around his midsection from behind and nuzzling my face into the crook of his neck. He jumped and tensed up a little but relaxed when I began to speak, "Gutten morgen Matthew." Matthew smiled and put down the fork he was using to cook the bacon and turned around to give me a proper hug. He hummed and smiled before reaching for the whiteboard and marker on the counter. I moved my arm to around his shoulder as he wrote.

"I woke up before you did, so I though that i'd cook you breakfast. I hope you don't mind."

I smiled, "Of course I don't mind. How did you sleep Birdie?"

"The best i've slept in years, thanks to you." He blushed after he wrote it and after a minute he stood on his tiptoes and kissed my cheek. I  wanted to squeal like a little girl, but I didn't of course. He immediately turned back around to finish cooking the bacon and I leaned against the counter beside him.

"What do you mean 'in a while'? Did you have nightmares?" I asked.

Matthew finished cooking the bacon and grabbed the white board.

"I had nightmares all the time. They eventually got so bad that I refused to sleep unless I had collapsed, which happened more than one would've liked to faint. "

I brushed some of his hair out of his face before cupping it lovingly, "I'm glad the awesome me could help." He blushed and gestured to the table of food. There was pancakes, and homemade maple syrup. Home. Made. There was also sausage links and bacon, but who cares about any of that? I'm all about pancakes. Man am I glad my soul mate is canadian. We sat down and ate, me eating gigantic portions, while he only ate a very small portion. Very small.

Finally we finished breakfast and I stood up, "So mein Birdie, do you have any plans today?" He seemed to consider it for a moment before he grabbed his whiteboard and marker.

"Well I do, but I'd rather stay here with you."

I placed my hand on his arm comfortingly. For some reason I just can't seemed to keep my hands off of him. Not in a dirty way, I mean I just like holding him and stuff like that, "Matthew, you don't have to ditch your plans for me. "

"I know it's just that I don't want to go. Not only would I rather bee here with you but I don't want to be there."

I nodded, "Okay then. I wont question it. But if you're staying, what do you want to do?"

"I don't care... can we cuddle?"

He blushed and hid his face. I smiled and grabbed him suddenly, slinging him over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes.I carried him back to my room where I sat him down on the bed lightly and turned to feed Gilbird. After I fed him, I knelt down and he nestled into my hair like he always does, chirping happily. I turned back around to see Matthew texting on his phone, a upset look on his face.
