~Matthew~

"Francis, if you haven't noticed, I'm kinda in the middle of-" Gilbert began.

"Of screwing my son!" Francis, exclaimed, cutting him off.

Gilbert looked down at me shocked before looking back at Francis, "What? Your... son?"

Francis nodded moving forward and throwing Gilbert off me, gathering me into his arms.

"I cannot believe you Gilbert! Trying to have sex with my innocent son!" Francis said.

Gilbert chuckled, "Oh trust me, he's not innocent."

Francis glared at him, "Don't you say such things about my baby Matthew! He is my fragile little boy, I can't believe you would take advantage of my son who cant even speak to defend himself!"

" I wouldn't have done anything he told me not to." Gilbert said.

"And how could he tell you? It's not like he can talk!" Francis shot back.

I pushed against Francis' chest and he let me stand up on my own. I went to my bag, which I had sat down carefully when I had gotten into Gilbert's room, and took out my noted and pen.

"Papa, he's my soul mate."

Francis' eyes went wide and he looked to Gilbert, "Soul mates?"

Gilbert nodded and looked towards me, "Yeah we found out last year."

"Matthew Williams!" I looked at Francis sheepishly, and I could feel tears well up in my eyes, "I cannot believe you didn't tell me!"

I looked up surprised, that was not what I had expected him to say.

"Wait."

We looked over at Gilbert, who was looking like he had just solved an extremely hard math equation.

"If your Francis son then that means you lived not even five minutes away from me this whole time!" he exclaimed.

I nodded and his eyes got even wider, "Wait that means you're what, seventeen!"

I nodded and suddenly I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. Francis held me again as I cried until I was passed into Gilbert's arms.

"Shush Birdie it's okay. I don't care how old you are." He whispered and kissed me on the forehead.

I started to calm down, but I didn't leave Gilbert. Gilbert looked up at Francis and nodded towards the door, "Go make up with Arthur."

Francis blinked, "How did you know?"

Gilbert rolled his eyes, "You two are always fighting. "

Francis laughed and nodded, turning to leave. A moment before he disappeared he looked back at us, "I trust that Matthew will be safe and will be back tomorrow?"

Gilbert nodded and a second later I heard the front door close. I looked up at Gilbert and pressed my lips against his gently. He held me close to him and even after the kiss was over he didn't let go.

I sighed, not like I wanted him too.
