Tulips

Wrong Address

This au doesn't have phones they communicate with letters
Also in this au Niki is 20 and puffy is 22

Niki POV:

It was a normal day at the flower shop until I heard the door open "were closed" I yelled from behind the counter "sorry I just need to drop off a package" I realized that it wasn't a customer it was the mailman "just drop it on the counter" I said and just like that I heard the door open again and assumed he left

I walked to the front and picked up the Letter I was confused but opened it regardless

it was three mildly smashed tulips and a note the note said ' sorry about your loss he died fighting for us' oh I realized this wasn't meant for me it was probably meant for someone else there was a major war between the country I lived in and a neighboring country they were probably writing to a friend who had lost a family member

of course I felt bad but not too much I didn't know who this person was so I looked on the return stamp and decided I would visit tomorrow after all the shop was closed tomorrow until then I took the tulips and put them in a pot trying to save them

~the next day~

When I left the house I took a look at the return address again and realized it wasn't that far of a walk from here so I decided to walk when I got there it looked like a nice kind of cottage looking house

I went to the door and knocked and a few seconds later the door opened "hello" the person said they were a goat hybrid I had realized they had horns sticking up from their hair and goat legs their hair was half brown half half white

"Hi um you sent me this letter and I don't think it was for me" I told the person ( we don't assume gender) "That was meant for a friend sorry about the mixup would you like to come in I just made breakfast"

(Please don't go into strangers houses this is for plot)

"Sure" I said as to not be rude followed them into the house and into a dining room they told me to sit down and so I did they went into another room that I assumed was in the kitchen they came out with a plate of biscuits they set them on the table and sat down

"What's your name" she asked "my names Niki I go by she/her what's yours" I said in response "puffy I go by she/her as well" she said

(Two hours later)

I looked at the clock and realized that I had somewhere to be because I didn't expect to stay long I looked back at puffy and told her "Sorry I just looked at the time and I have to get going bye!" "Bye hope we can talk more" she replied

After that she went about her day and that night she went to bed satisfied
