Today, I woke up too excitedly.
"Hi!" I greeted.
You came to see me again!
"I love you!" I reminded.
And I always will.
The mushrooms around me wobbled from how I shook with happiness.
It was a new day with you in this world.
The coarse dirt beneath me clung to my yellowing shirt.
Excited for this new day, I stood up and skipped through the forest.
Mushrooms that had once been in the ground had been uprooted and stuck to my dirtied pants.
I was careful not to trip on any roots that have grown up to the ground or small stones. I wouldn't want you to worry.
"Did you-" I start to say through pants, "know that I-" I ducked away from a low tree branch, "thought of a name last night while you were away?" I asked, as I looked up.
I could feel you were curious.
"My name is Spes!"
I introduced myself to you.
I grin at the sky, before returning my gaze to stare at the stream that bubbled.
The clear waters rippled and sighed, and the leaves from the surrounding trees dropped down and floated away.
I want to feel like a leaf too!
I jumped down to the cold stream.
Splashing and giggling as the water lovingly welcomed me.
I floated on my back, with my eyes up to you.
"Is it beautiful out there as it is here?" I asked.
I can tell you replied, but I can't hear you.
The skies you were behind in looked as fluffier as ever.
The water held me gently in its arms like a mother would to her son.
My eyes slowly drift to close as I imagined myself in your arms.
And once again, you're leaving.
