So I have to write a memoir for English and I wrote the only thing I could remember so I wanted your opinions. Forewarning I'm not a very good writer. Anyways any criticism is helpful.
I don't have many memories from my childhood that I can remember in much detail, they're all kind of a blur, especially the ones from my earlier childhood. There is one though, it was in roughly 2014-2016. My dad, older sister, younger brother and I all went fishing at this big beautiful lake in North Carolina, which is where we lived at the time. We were there for hours. I fished for a while but after getting bored decided to get my siblings and explore the pine forest next to the lake. All of the trees soared way above my height, don't know if it was because was ridiculously short or just because they were all old 50-100 foot trees. I always found some level of peace in the woods. We started walking through the woods and I remember just feeling in utter peace, feeling like I was surrounded by Christmas trees but more glamorous. We stupidly decided to try and climb one of the pines, so up I went climbing the sturdy branches, not stopping till I reached about halfway up. I felt like I could touch the clouds, like there was nothing in the world that could stop me. We yell at our dad from in the trees, "look dad we're finally tatler than you!" He didn't hear us for a couple tries, but once he did he got this big grin on his face and started making his way to the trees. When he got to the trunk he told us to come down, wel didn't listen immediately, we just wanted to spend one more moment up in the clouds taking in the fresh air and the smell of evergreens, I can still feel the rough bark of the conifer as I made my way down it's trunk. I can still feel all my fears leave my body for those moments. I can still hear the old pines swaying, the lake moving, the birds flying and calling out to one another, my family members laughing and conversing from below. I can still smell the sweet North Carolina air as it rushes through, on the cool autumn day I'd still give anything to be back in that tree just for a moment more.
Anyways hope your Halloween was good. Also I've been thinking of writing a fanfic maybe but based off of some of my personal experiences a little.
