"I ordered 500 pairs of chopsticks" was the first thing Chan received on the fine (definitely not fine) Tuesday morning.
"Do you need any chopsticks?" Jisung continued, holding out a pair as if Chan needed proof that Jisung had them in his possession. Chan's known the boy long enough to trust that he did not in fact, need proof.
"I'm sorry" Chan exclaimed, only just registering the first jumble of words Jisung had spoken to him.
"Do you need any chopsticks?"
"No, Jisung, I mean why the fuck did you order 500 chopsticks" it wasn't even 2 minutes into his shift and Chan already needed a nap.
"Well, I didn't intentionally order 500, obviously. I wanted to order 5. But I quickly realized I had accidentally ordered five hundred when a giant box of chopsticks arrived at my door" Chan was pressing his temples for some form of release.
"Jisung," he mumbled into his hands, "that means you currently have 1000 sticks of wood in your possession with absolutely no purpose"
"Ah, well, I wanted 5 pairs originally, so that's 10 gone already, and I managed to get Changbin to take 40 pairs off my hands for me, so that's 80 more gone"
"Oh, my-" Chan paused, looking up, "how the hell did you convince Bin to take 40 pairs of chopsticks from you?"
"He's weirdly persuasive" Chan very much jumped out of his skin when Changbin appeared behind him.
"Now, onto the question you still haven't answered, do you need any-"
"No! Jisung, I don't need any fucking chopsticks"
"Damn aight I was only asking" Jisung raised his hands in defence.
"I genuinely find it concerning that you have no understanding of how much pain you cause me sometimes," Chan mumbled to Jisung who smirked at his friend and turned to the customer who had just walked through the door.
As Jisung was serving the first customer, the cafe bell rang once again to indicate there was another. Chan very nearly grumbled to himself at having to endure a conversation with a stranger where he would have to be unconvincingly nice this early in the morning.
However when Chan looked up to calculate just how nice he'd need to be - you can never be too careful about who'll complain about absolutely fuck all - he had to give a double-take. The man that had just walked in was quite literally glowing, maybe it was the sun glimmering through the windows but Chan was pretty damn sure it was the gods raining down on him because there was absolutely no way someone could look this exquisite at eight o'clock on a cloudy Tuesday morning.
The man in question had very subtly dyed purple hair, which looked brown in some lighting, and a perfectly sculpted face that Chan decided was definitely not fair. Despite Chan shamelessly salivating over the Greek statue that just entered the cafe, he couldn't help but acknowledge that there was a lead attached to the man's hand, a lead that trailed down to a seemingly curious cat, if the fact that it had managed to extend the lead all the way around to the area Chan was standing in was anything to go by.
A cat.
He had a cat on the leash.
Said cat had sat and was just staring at Chan before letting out a little 'meow.'
