"What is your favourite colour?" James picked truth and Tyler asked the most basic question ever. If he had to guess, he'd probably say that it was one of those light shades of grey.
"Green."
Tyler nods, he's pretty far off. Since the dancing dare, Tyler's been steering clear of any kind of questions or dares that were going in that direction. James doesn't seem very fond of his decision though.
James nudges his head at Tyler from the floor, asking him to pick truth or dare. Tyler's answers always been the same, truth.
"Do you like anyone?"
Tyler lets out a small gasp as he turns to look at James. Is he asking because he knows? Or is he just asking because he wants to know? Looking at how James was still rolled onto his side on the floor, it was probably the latter.
Tyler reminds himself to breath as he thinks about how to answer. It's just a simple question, he can just be cool about it and not freak out. "Of course I do, everyone does." He shrugs, trying to pretend that it's no big deal.
James just hums then turns to lie on his back. This was not why he suggested to play truth or dare, and he thought that getting Tyler to dance with him was a big enough hint. Apparently not.
After this round, he'll send Tyler home. He can't take any more of this boring chit chat. "Okay, last round. Truth or dare?" He asks and pushes himself up.
The food they brought was finished and the bottle was almost empty. Tyler was twirling the glass in his hands as he picked truth yet again. James sighed. Since it was the last one, might as well make use of it.
"When was your first kiss? And who was it with?"
Tyler's fingers stopped and the glass fell on its side. If it wasn't empty, the drink would have spilled onto the floor. He didn't want to go home so soon, but he didn't think James would ask that question.
He quickly glanced to James, who had sat up and crossed his legs. He was waiting for a reply. When? Tyler could only answer that if it had already happened.
He fumbles to pick up the toppled glass and lets out a hesitant hum. "I probably don't know whoever it is so you can just tell me." James says, trying to get Tyler to quickly answer him so they could leave. He didn't think it was such a hard question.
"I actually, well-" Tyler mumbles as he looks down at his hands. Somehow, answering this question was harder than the previous one. He could feel the heat building up at his cheeks as he thought of what he should say.
James grumbled, "what? Why is it so hard to answer?" He asks, sounding a little agitated. Tyler was too busy feeling embarrassed to mind James' tone.
He shakes his head, "I, I haven't." He says a little louder. James leans over just to barely be able to hear him and frowns. What does he mean he hasn't. Yea he hasn't answered the question.
James blinks at Tyler for a few seconds before his eyes fly open. He hasn't. He hasn't had his first kiss yet. He straightens up, he could use this.
He hums as another idea formulates in his head. "Really?" He asks to get Tyler to peek up at him through his bangs.
"Well, since it's the last round and all you've done is answer questions. How about you do a dare for me?" James suggests as he pushes the plates between them to the side. Tyler hesitates and James continues to say, "Come on, just one dare."
He shifts forward a little to see the slight crease in between Tyler's eyebrows, he's deciding whether or not he should do it. One dare couldn't hurt right?
"What do you want me to do?"
James flashes him a smirk, before he clears his throat and answers. "I dare you to kiss me." He says with a glint in his eyes, now things are getting interesting.
Tyler thought he'd heard wrong. He lifts his head up to look at James, "what?" James looks at him innocently and smiles, "I think you heard me."
Realisation hits Tyler and his face turns bright red. He's going to kiss James and James the one that suggested it. James is going to be his first kiss.
His eyes dart from James' eyes to his lips. Is he really serious? Can he really kiss him?
Looking at Tyler, James let out a little chuckle. "Do you want me to close my eyes?" He playfully raises an eyebrow and asks. Tyler hums out his reply and nods. That would help, his heart is going fast enough as it is.
James shuts his eyes and Tyler takes a deep breath. He gets onto his knees and crawls over to James. This is it, his first kiss. Maybe he should close his eyes too.
He puts his face right in front of James, before he shuts his eyes and leans forward, lightly pecking James on his lips.
His eyes fly open as he moves away. He did it, his first kiss. With James. He watches as James' eyes slowly open and looks at him. "You call that a kiss?" He asks, his voice low.
Tyler's chest tightened as he stopped moving. "Come on, I said..." James voice drops to a whisper as he leans towards Tyler. His hand finds its way to the back of Tyler's head and he laces his fingers into his hair.
"Kiss me."
James finishes his sentence just before he smirks and presses his lips back onto Tyler's. Tyler tenses up. What's happening? James is actually kissing him.
Before he knows it, his eyes flutter shut. The only thing he's feeling is James's lips on his as he falls back onto his knees. And all too soon, Tyler runs out of breath.
He pushes against James hand at the back of his head and leans away. He opens his eyes to see James grinning at him. Thank god the room wasn't that bright or James would see how red he actually was.
He takes in some deep breaths and processes what just happened. They just, kissed. Tyler's eyes trail up to from James' lips to his eyes. He can't believe this just happened.
James wasn't thinking about anything, he just wanted to do it again.
With his hand still at the back of Tyler's head, he pulled Tyler towards him. He angled his face to the side, wanting to kiss him again.
This time, Tyler panics. He does a really big gasp as his hands fly up to cover James' lips. He stares at James with wide eyes, realising what he's done. Hesitantly, he pulls his hands off of James' face.
James lets out a soft chuckle and let's go of Tyler. He brings his hand to the top of Tyler's head and pushes the hair away from his face. "It's okay." He mumbles before planting a kiss on his forehead.
When he pulls away, Tyler had his head down and was twiddling his fingers. "Well it's getting late, so I'll send you home." James chuckles as he stands up.
He waits for Tyler to get up too but all he sees is Tyler's shoulder droop just slightly. James thought after the kiss and everything Tyler would want to leave. But, maybe not. James tries to hide his smile as he suggests, "or you could stay the night?"
Tyler quickly raises his head to look at James, to see whether or not he was being serious. He thought that going home now would be a waste, especially since things have gotten interesting. If he could choose, he'd never want this night to end.
Tyler gives James a slight nod. "You should probably call Emma then." James bits his bottom lip as he grins. "And I'll go get us more drinks."
