Family Murder

Special Day

It was a snowy December in Hollsway and everybody of the McClure family slept in except for little Amy. It was 7 in the morning and she woke up, quite exuberant. It was her sixth birthday and her parents had promised her a surprise for her birthday. She went to her parent's bedroom and jumped onto their bed.

"Mom, Dad wake up!"

Then Elizabeth and Luke woke up, only to see their daughter jumping on their bed with her hair all tangled. 

"Amy, it is just 7:05. Go back to bed."

"But it's my birthday and you promised me a surprise!"

"We remember and we will give it to you soon." said Luke.

"Okay." said Amy with a wide grin.

Pretty soon everyone in the house was awakened by Amy and Linda and Joanne made breakfast. Everyone sat down at the dining table to have their breakfast.

"Does everyone remember what day it is today?" asked Amy.

"Your birthday of course!" said everyone.

To that Amy smiled broadly. She kept talking about everything she wanted for her birthday and everything she wanted to do throughout the breakfast time. 

That day was a busy and fun day for The McClures. First, they went toy-shopping at the mall for Amy. Next, they went to an ice cream parlour to get her favourite ice cream which was chocolate-vanilla sundae. Then they went to the park and spent most of their time there, playing. 

Soon they returned home and Amy asked her mother about her surprise.

"Mommy where is my surprise?"

"Well, the surprise is that I will cook us a big feast and your favourite spaghettis. Is that nice?"

"Yay that is awesome!"

Then Amy gave her mother some big hugs. With that Elizabeth went into the kitchen to prepare the feast quickly. She was almost done with the egg dish, tacos and spaghettis when Joanne walked into the kitchen and said, "Hey. You need some help?" 

"Oh yes that would be wonderful. Can you help me with the French fries please?" 

"Sure." 

Joanne started with the fries while Elizabeth made the desert. Pretty soon dinner was served and everybody sat down at the table and was amazed by the feast.

"Elizabeth you have done so much. This looks wonderful." admired Katherine. Everybody nodded in agreement.

"Thanks." said Elizabeth with a smile. "You like it Amy?"

"I love it mommy. Thanks a lot!" replied Amy contentedly.

Everyone started eating and admired Elizabeth's cooking skills. Then Linda said jokingly, "Looks like I have got some competition." Everybody laughed at that.

After finishing dinner, John and the others went to the living room and turned on the TV to watch a baseball match. But James said that he was tired and wanted to go to bed early. So he went up to his bedroom. 

While the match was going on, Joanne took Jenny and put her to bed as it was late. She soon came down to the living room and resumed watching the match. It was almost midnight and everyone thought of retiring to bed. When Joanne went to her bedroom which she shared with James, she froze in shock.

"Oh my...OH MY GOD!JAMES!!" she cried.

Everyone, other than Amy who was asleep, got alerted by Joanne's scream and went up to her bedroom only to find her crying over her husband, lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
