Chapter 1: The System

It was Naruto's 10th birthday, he was reading a book in his room, he noticed some villagers outside his house, throwing rocks at his window. Naruto didn't care because they did this to him every year, however, think were going to be different this year. A few minutes passed, as Naruto looked back out his window, to see nobody there, confused he stood up out of bed and walked over to his front door. Right before he put his hand on the doorknob, the door burst down, falling onto Naruto.


Naruto's eyes widened, to see 3 drunk villagers, with angry looks on their faces. One man picked the door off of Naruto, before kicking him in the face, knocking him into a wall. The second man grabbed a kunai, and stabbed Naruto on his right forearm, before punching him repeatedly. The beating went on for hours before the Third man grabbed a katana, ready to kill the 'Demon' "H-Hey, don't kill him, or else we'll be executed by the third Hokage" the First man said, as he tried to stop the Third man. The Third man pushed the First man back, as he swung the katana at Naruto, Naruto closed his eyes, waiting for it all to end.



The end never came though, Naruto opened one eye, to see the men frozen, the blade right in front of his face, the First man reaching out to the THird man to stop, as the Second man ran away. Although time was frozen, Naruto himself couldn't move, until he noticed a blue screen.

ALARM

[YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL THE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS OF THE SECRET QUEST 'COURAGE OF THE WEAK']

'What? Secret Quest?' Naruto questioned in his head, confused and scared as the screen continued.


[YOU HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT TO BECOME A PLAYER. WILL YOU ACCEPT?]

'Earned? Accept?' Naruto thought, his brain moving a mile a second, thinking of every possible outcome.

[YOU DO NOT HAVE MUCH TIME REMAINING]

[IF YOU REFUSE, YOUR HEART WILL STOP APPROXIMATELY 0.02 SECONDS LATER. WILL YOU ACCEPT?]

'If I accept will I be able to live?' Naruto questioned in his head, weighing the pros and cons.

"I accept," Naruto said, wondering what could happen.

[WELCOME, PLAYER]

A bright yellow light surrounded Naruto, as he yelled in agony, as everything went dark.
