I woke with a start. The alarm from that giant alarm clock was buzzing again loudly. It stopped on the ninth buzz as the human got up. I sighed, knowing that there's no going to sleep on the weekend. All three of the humans living here, I think all teenagers or young adults, would be up and doing some stupid thing.

I hissed, and got up, crawling through the wall space towards the kitchen. I had five minutes to get breakfast, get out, and not get caught. I ran out of the hole under the counter, leaping up to the handle of the drawer. I used the handles to hoist myself up, getting there in two minutes. " Oof..." I sighed, running over to the cupboard. I climbed in and got to work, dragging the bread slice out of the package and towards the back to hide it.

Thump, thump, thump.

The human boy's footsteps sounded, as he walked into the kitchen. I dragged the bread slice successfully behind the cans of fruit where I normally deposited the food for later, and sat down, tearing off a chunk the size of a quarter. Which, may I add, is HUGE to me! It would feed me for the day probably. I nibbled on it as the cupboard opened.

" Oh come on! Stupid mice getting into our food." I was hidden, nothing to worry about. I stopped focusing as I nibbled on the bread, smiling to myself. I felt the other humans footsteps coming in. I don't get humans. They're weird and big and scary. That's all I know. I peeked out from behind the can as the cupboard closed and smirked. " I win again." I murmured to myself.

After the humans had their breakfast, they left the kitchen. I went to work on gathering my food storage. This consisted in me breaking up slices of bread, dragging it down to the hole, crawling through the walls, and depositing it inside the wall behind the bookshelf. This process repeated a few times, before I finally had enough stored for a while.

I smiled at my work and started to explore the house. I came out the hole behind the black sofa in the living room. I walked out calmly and confidently, humming a song I heard the humans singing once. Don't ask me what it's called, I don't know.

I felt the thuds and dashed behind the table leg. The human, which I now had a clear view of, was coming into the living room. I could clearly see now that he had blue eyes, blonde hair, and pale skin. " Ah $#¡Г, probably coming to play video games or something." I watched him to see when my chance to dash was. He walked over to the couch and sat, and I gave a mental sigh. This is going to be risky. I cracked my neck and jogged in place for a second, before taking off towards the front hall. " What the- MOUSE!" And I instantly felt him running after me, as he stumbled to the floor with a crash.

I dodged a flailing hand as he reached out for me, and through the doorway to the front hall. Instant mistake. I ran, right in between the legs of the brunette boy with tan skin, who reached down in an attempt to grab me, but only succeeded in grabbing the shoe next to me. I ran for the kitchen. Red-head was in there nomming some granola. He watched calmly as I ran across the floor, followed by Blondie and Brownie.

I'd rather not describe what happened next. Let's say I hid somewhere I'll regret forever... *shudder* Anyway, I escaped. End of Story. Next chapter anyone?
