Percy and Annabeth were dead. They were pale corpses, standing in front of a wretched hobbled over Misery. All the Olympians, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Jason, Percy and Leo were watching Percy's memory.

Misery had scratches on her face, blood gushing from her wounds, dripping over more dried blood. She was hunched over with hands that resembled claws, with long, overgrown fingernails caked with layers of Blood and dirt under them.

The Tartarus atmosphere was enough to make Leo go crazy. It was just a memory but Leo was getting strangled by the toxic Tartarus air.

It was dark, the ground was a thick red and was littered with bones, all of Leo's senses were screaming, and Leo wanted to curl up in a ball and cry.

Percy and Annabeth were talking with Misery and found out that she was going to kill them.
Percy was trying to fight her but he wasn't solid, and he couldn't harm her.
Leo watched horrified as Percy called Misery's attention away from Annabeth by calling out rude taunts such as 'Cheerful' and 'Giggles'.

The attempt to attract her attention worked, but unfortunately Percy had no where to go. He couldn't hurt Misery and he couldn't run anywhere.
Horror gurgled inside Leo as he saw Percy fall to his knees, becoming surrounded by pools of poison, and Leo only kept watching out of pure curiosity.

Then the most unexpected thing ever happened. Percy laughed. His laughter unnerved everyone watching this horrible event unfold.
Real Percy was almost in tears watching himself, and everyone was either looking horrified at current Percy or past Percy as the memory Percy held out his hands.

Memory Percy laughed louder as he stood up and stopped the poison currents... No, not stopped he pushed them back. Misery was drowning. In poison.
Suddenly another voice came into the scene.
"Stop!" A horrified Annabeth yelled.

Percy's phsycotic smile left and he faltered, letting Misery go. "Now leave!" He shouts at Misery and she hobbled away.

Percy turned back to Annabeth and she grabbed his arms pleading with him, "Percy please, never again-- some things are just not-- not meant to be controlled! Promise, Percy! Please!" Annabeth broke down her voice cracking and hugging a miffed Percy tightly, sobbing.

"Yeah," Percy said still dazed, "Yeah okay"

The memory fuzzed out and suddenly we were back in the present and Percy staggered before falling to his knees, holding his face in his hands, obviously close to tears.

After a pause Leo looks at Percy, slightly horrified, slightly seriosusly depressed.
"Percy," he says, "you have to help Jason"
He nodded slowly looking up, his eyes blood red.
"Perseus Jackson, the son of Hephestus's judgement is clouded by friendship. To save a friend you would destroy the world. Attempt to save Jason from the poison and it is highly likely that you will die." Athena says.
Percy stands up shaky, yet determined. "You must not be as wise as you think," Percy says his voice hoarse, "if you honestly believe that would stop me."

Athena didn't seem to take this insult personally but Percy seemed to regret it immediately. Instead of apologizing, he turns to see Jason on the ground, unconscious.
"Well I guess its now or never," Percy said.
Leo was the first to walk up to Percy, and gave him a big hug as Percy shakily hugged back. "I hope you find Calypso" Percy says "I hope you make her happy." Leo held back tears of his own and thanked Percy.
Next Frank comes up to Percy. "Look, man.. I'm sorry about... You're the bravest hero I've ever met" Frank Zhang 's face was red.
"Hey, this isn't goodbye praetor Zhang!" Percy says, his voice tight and restrained.
Hazel ran up to Percy and nearly knocked him over with a hug. Poor Hazel couldn't even get out a complete sentence because she was sobbing so violently into Percy's neck.  Percy hugged her back, his head in her chocolate brown hair. "You stay strong, Levesque!" Percy sniffled Hazel roughly nodded backing up. Next it was Piper who charmspoke, telling Percy to be strong, but maybe her heart wasn't in it because there was no obvious change in Percy's mood. She hugged him running her hand through his black hair.

Zeus staggered over to Percy. "Look, Percy. I ugh.. I've seen better heroes. Way better." At this Percy snorted "But I-- erm-- thank you.. for what you're doing. You have proven yourself a worthy hero." Percy nodded his head slightly, an attempted bow.
Poseidon came up to Percy and held his shoulders, staring into his sea green eyes. "My son,--" he started, his voice breaking, "You have been very brave, do not regret what you have done in Tartarus. The Pit is made to twist peoples' minds and make them crazy. You have most definitely proven yourself as a true hero, and I wish we would talk more, my boy, but time is running out. In order to expel the poison, you must hurry. I-- Percy I am so proud of you." He pulled Percy into a hug and Percy hugs back, not wanting to let go.
"Thanks" a small smile playing on his lips. "Tell, ... Tell my mom what happened, tell her to eat something blue for me. Tell her the story, and that I love her," Percy said quickly.
Before turning to Annabeth Percy also added; "Tell Tyson it's okay and someone please buy Blackjack a donut."

Percy looked accomplished, well almost. There was someone left he had to talk to.

Annabeth had her arms crossed, her lower lip quivering. "Why you,  Seaweed brain? Why do you have to die while Jason gets to live, where's my happy ending? You promised you would never do this again, you promised! You can't control everything and you can't always be the hero!" At this point Annabeth was sobbing. "You, you promised you would never leave me again, how could you do this!?" Percy was now in tears. He wrapped his arms around Annabeth, holding her while she shook with tears.
"Hey, Wisegirl, who said anything about leaving? Hey," he picked up her  chin, causing her to look into his beautiful sea green eyes.
He pulled her lips to his in front of all the gods, but what did he have to lose?
Aphrodite sighed, waving her eyes as if trying not to cry and ruin her make-up. Athena and Poseidon looked at eachother, but I steadily of being angry they just grinned with pride.

Percy pulled away, hugging Annabeth one last time before wiping his eyes and making his way to an unconscious Jason.

He knelt down preparing himself.
