The big wooden warehouse-looking building in front of us looked like a stripped-down Costco. Me and Chris were giggling as Patricia led us to the doors. As we approached the doors, he said something that I couldn't understand into his little microphone thing. The doors suddenly opened with a loud whooshing sound, and that's when I saw the entrance to something out of a spy movie. It was like Men in Black but without Will Smith and aliens.
"Woah" Chris said, their eyes were starstruck. It was kind of cute. Oh no... Wait was I-
"This is the place you will be sleeping, working, eating, and breathing in" Pat said gesturing toward the massive workplace.
"Wait... What's happening here?" I looked him up and down, making sure this wasn't a trap of some sort.
"Let me lead you guys to your room."
Me and Chris both blush
"Wait we're- We're sharing a room?" Chris said, their face only getting more and more red as they speak.
"Yep. I assume that's not a problem, is it? You guys have to share a bed too... I should've mentioned that before..." He looks at both of us with embarrassment.
"The rooms can be changed, right?" I say, messing with my rings.
"I'm afraid not..." He stops. "Oh well"
He led us to our room and sat us on the bed. He kept the door open a little bit so it wouldn't seem like we were... you know...
"Ok so you guys are probably really confused right now" Pat said.
"No shit sherlock" I scolded at him.
Chris snickered and it made me blush a little harder. Pat sighed at me.
"Ok... Let me explain why you're here." He paused and let out a long sigh "You're here to become trained assassins for the government. This is highly confidential. You can't share this with anyone."
We stop giggling to ourselves as we realize the intensity of this situation.
"Wait... We're staying here? For how long exactly?" I say, worrying about my family and Chris'.
"Life" Pat says with all seriousness.
Me and Chris look at each other and cry. We end up hugging and crying on each other's shoulder. We've been enemies for God knows how long and now here we were. Crying together. Living together. Being sort of friends again. It was kind of nice to be in their arms. To feel their gentle breathing on my neck. I nuzzle my face into their neck, and they do the same.
