We left the office just as we entered, and walked quickly down the hall. The pit in my stomach had almost disappeared now, along with the feeling that something terrible would happen. With the weight of that guilt gone, my heart felt as light as air.
We reached the steps to my dorm and I turned to look at him one more time, but instead I saw a figure behind him.
My face dropped from a slight smile to pure horror. There he was, roaming the halls with a face ready to catch troublesome kids. Jenson.Jenson was the hall monitor in a way. He was a grumpy old teacher who roamed the halls at all hours of the day, hungering for a student to break a rule so he could punish them. Nobody hated kids more than him.
Theo and I locked eyes and I desperately looked at him for a plan. Without another second passing, he grabbed me by the shoulders and pushed me against the wall.
I opened my mouth the shout at him but remembered our situation. He peeked his head around the corner to check where Jenson was and saw he was moving closer. His body inched forward to mine, until our noses were almost touching.
I held my breath and dared to look at him. To my surprise, he was already staring down at me, and unusual smile playing at his lips.
"You like this, don't you?" I scoffed.
"I do." He admitted
I shook my head, bringing our lips closer ever so slightly.
"I thought you hated me."
"I do." He said again.
The silence filled the small amount of air between us, until he finally said, "Now comes your part."
He let go of my shoulders and I watched as he ran down the hall towards Jenson.
What is he doing?!
Jenson caught sight of Theo and ran toward him. Theo continued to jog away from me and down the hall until I could no longer see him.
I exhaled and only then did I realize Theo left something in my hand when he let go. I opened my closed fist and strained my eyes in the dim light to see none other than a little crumpled note.
The note:
You liked it too, didn't you princess?
