4 𝖔𝖚𝖙 𝖔𝖋 7 𝖎𝖓 𝖒𝖆𝖌𝖊 𝖘𝖊𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖘
One year. That's how long it took. One. Year. The Avengers and the New Avengers have been working together, utilizing their abilities for the greater good. But, the rest of the world doesn't see it that way...
Since the bombing of the UN, the Avengers who did not sign the accords are going undercover. Lauren and Steve stand outside by a lamp post. Steve dials a number on his phone, and the call goes through.
" You alright?", Steve asks Natasha once she picks up the phone.
" Uh, yeah, thanks. I got lucky. I know how much Barnes means to you. I really do. Stay home. You'll only make this worse. For all of us. Please".
" Are you saying you'll arrest me?" Steve asks.
" No. Someone will. If you interfere. That's how it works now," Natasha says.
" If he's this far gone, Nat, I should be the one to bring him in".
" Why?".
" Because I'm the one least likely to die trying".
" That would be me, hun", Lauren says," Let me talk to Natasha. Please".

" We can't risk it", He says.
" She's my friend, I can reason with her", Lauren says as she starts to walk.
" Lauren, no!", Steve whisper-yells as he grabs her arm and pulls her back.
" Fine", She says as she yanks her arm away from him, " Have it your way".
Knowing that Steve was going to walk into the restaurant where Sam is, she sends an illusion of herself with him. Lauren's real self walks across the street, and sits down on the bench next to her friend.
" That ended well", She says, making sure not to turn her head as she talks.
" What are you doing here?", Natasha asks.
" I'm checking up on you".
" You could get caught".
" You know this isn't the first time I've been on the run. How bad was it?".
" T'Challa is angry. Says he's going to kill Barnes himself".
" We don't even know where he is".
" Don't go after him... Lauren, please".
" Steve and I will find him. We'll talk to him privately out of the public eye".
" What's going on with you? I haven't seen you like this since--".
" Don't even think about bringing that up. I have my magic under control. This isn't like that".
" I'm just doing my job".
" ... I know that they told you to do it if it ever comes to that, but you and I both know that I'm the better fighter".
Lauren then gets up from the bench and walks towards the restaurant, where she sees Sharon Carter slipping a file to Steve. A pang of jealous hits her heart, but she dismisses it.
