Third person's POV
It was Shab-e-Mairaj and Hussein went to Al-Aqsa Mosque for the night prayer. He reached Palestine in the afternoon after the Asar prayer. He firstly met with the local Palestinians when the crowd heard a gun shot. They all turned their heads to see who fired the gun when they saw Hussein falling on the ground. His guards had already reached him while some of his guards were running behind the man who fired the shot.
Hala was trying to feed Raina something, she was her most stubborn child who didn't like to eat anything. Salma came to check on them, when she saw Hala's condition, she brust into laughter and Hala glared at her. She picked Rayed up and started playing with him. She was surfing channels with Rayed sitting on her lap to switch to a cartoon channel when she stopped on the news channel.
The news anchor was speaking in a loud voice, "أطلق الرصاص على ولي العهد الذي كان في جولته الفلسطينية. وفقًا لتقاريرنا الرسمية ، فقد أصيب بجروح بالغة". She was still speaking something but both the elders who could understand what she said, couldn't listen to anything anymore. Hala felt like everything around her stopped. She could not hear anything, she felt weezing sounds in her ears. She was breathing heavily. Salma came towards her and sat on the floor. Hala looked towards her like she did not know her. She reached to her phone firstly called King Abdullah but then cut it, then she called Khalid the chief guard of Hussein.
"Khalid, tell me about his condition and I don't want to listen to any lie. Just forget that the person you are talking about is my husband. Be professional with me". Hala said to him while batting her eyes to control her tears.
"Ma'am, Sir is shot in the chest. His heart was saved only by a few milimeters and another bullet hit his shoulder. He has lost a lot of his blood and right now he is in the operation theatre". Khalid gave her an extensive answer.
"Channn... chances of survival". Hala said while fumbling, it was difficult for her to ask something like this about Hussein. She had never imagined such a scenerio even in her wildest dreams.
"Low". Khalid said in a low voice and Hala inhaled a sharp breath. Tears were threatening to flow and she was bitting her bottom lip to control herself. Salma put a hand on her shoulder.
"He will be alright". Salma sounded more like she was convincing herself, she had heard the conversation
"He has to be alright Salma. He can't leave me like this. He can't leave his children. I don't want my children to be called as orphans. Their baba can't leave them like this Salma. We have to grow old together and I want us to raise our children together." Hala said while crying hysterically and it was getting difficult for Salma to control her as she could not even control herself. Her beloved brother who loved her like his own child, her support system was fighting with life and death. It was killing her.
"Tell him Salma that I need him, his children him, we all need him. He can't leave me like that. He is the awning of my life. I'll die of heat if he leaves me. He is the only precious possession that I own. Ya ALLAH please don't do this to me. Please don't test me like that please ALLAH don't take the father of my children away from them". Hala could not control her tears.
Queen Rania hurriedly came towards Hala, she was crying too but watching Hala and Salma's condition, she wiped her tears, inhaled a sharp breath and went towards Hala. She put a hand on her shoulder to grab her attention.
"Mummy!" Hala and Salma said looking towards Queen Rania. Both hugged her whilst sobbing. Queen Rania patted them both.
"Hala, Salma, look at me. This is not the time to get weak, we need to be strong. Hussein needs us. He needs our prayers. Be strong." She was saying but her voice was trembling with fear. Her eldest son who gave her the honour of being called a mother, her most obedient and humble child now fighting with death, the mere thoughts of losing him made her feel like her soul was leaving her body.
