Sarah's POV
I am a simple girl who try to stay away from haram things and live with a loving family with two more siblings my elder brother is a little too overprotective and i have a babysitter who's the apple of every ones eye.As I lay in bed on Monday morning, the bright sunlight streaming through my thin curtains was almost blinding. I groaned, wishing that I could just pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep.
But I knew that I couldn't. Today was my first day of high school, and I couldn't afford to be late. My mom had made that very clear to me the night before, and I didn't want to face her wrath if I missed the bus.
So, with a sigh, I forced myself out of bed and stumbled over to the window. I pulled back the curtains and squinted against the bright light, feeling a pang of regret that summer was over and the school year had begun.
So I hurried to the washroom got my long black pleated skirt on with a beige shirt and a matching hijab to pair with my favorite black wedges ...
" Also don't get me wrong because I'm short I don't ever step out without my heels I'm not like those who love sneakers so here I am ready in my best outfit. My black leather Ted Baker bag and leather jacket are the perfect complement to my outfit.
"Assalamualaikum young lady Where do you think your going without breakfast"
.... OMA I say under my breath, knowing I'm in for a lecture."Walaikumaslam bhai I was just heading to school with Uzma ,care to leave us" I asked him.
"No no no I have to go , you besties may carry on , and don't forget to meet dad before going" he replied denying to leave us.
"Fiiiinee" I retorted stretching the word" I".
I went to dad where he was having breakfast.
I greeted him cheerfully, saying "Assalamualaikum pops!" which is what I call him when I'm in a good mood.
He responded by asking me if I had recited Surah Yaseen, a chapter of the Quran. "Walaikumaslam Sara, did you recite Surah Yaseen?" he inquired.
"No papa I'll recite it in the car on my way to school because I'm getting verrry late" I replied rushing to the kitchen.
"Ok go safely" he said while having his walnut dipped in honey
As I was retreating from the kitchen. Uzma entered shouting at me.
"Saraaaaa we are lateeeee do you want detentions on the first day of school"
"I greeted her with a smile and said, "Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to you too."
But then I heard her mutter something under her breath. "Urggg....this girl's gonna put us in trouble someday,"
She replied grumpily."Come on lets go" I said while ushering her towards the door.
