Just Friends with Benefits

Miles knows why everyone says he's nuts.

He's a little too observant, a little too forward, and a little too honest. He refuses to live life through the ignorant nebulous far too many people seem to be fond of, and that can be unnerving for some folks. He struggles with normalcy, a concept everyone else seems to excell at.

He watches as Pheobe engages Disney, B and Noah in an avid convorsation about Taylor Swift's latest love endeavor, to which Noah responds with a projection of her hatred towards the singer. Pheobe is smiling genuinely as she talks with her friends. So Miles smiles as well.

Pheobe is his only strand of normalcy, dispite her peculiararities. He can rely on her, her pearly white, toothy grin, her Mother Goose complex, and the thunder stroms behind her shiny blue eyes.

She glances at him and gives him an soft smile. She looks sad. Sad in the way people look after finishing a good book or when remenising about an old friend.

She throws a crumpled napkin at him, and it hits him in the chest. "You're in your zone again.' She accuses half-heartedly.
"Don't let me get in my zone..." B mumbles as Miles tosses the napkin back.
Pheobe sticks her tongue out at him before returning to her conversation with the girls, to which Indigo has joined into, agreeing with Noah.

Miles almost laughs out loud when he notices Alex perk up at Indigo's voice.
Levi and Chris had relentlessly teased the newbie about his affection for Indi last night when they were supposed to be sleeping. Alex had avidly denied their accusations, chuckling at how ridiculous they were being.
"No, no...We have been friends forever. Just friends."
"Just friends...with benefits?" Levi had asked, eyebrows wiggling wildly.
"No. No benefits." Alex stated firmly.
"No benefits? There are no benefits to being friends with her?" Chris asked, purposely playing dumb.
"No no, there are benefits, just not those kinds of benefits..." Alex said, emphisizing 'those'.
"Now what exactly do you mean by 'those' kinds benefits?" Chris inquired with a sly smile.
"Yes, please explain in great detail." Levi joined in, smirking.
And the teasing had continued as Alex was forced to "explain in great detail' what exactly he had implied.

Now the new kid is staring at the object of his so called platonic friendship with a look that isn't so platonic. Indigo however, is oblivious. She's laughing with the rest of table at a bickering Chris and Levi. Those two fight constantly, which is both entertaining and monotonous at once. Which of course, in essence, is the perfect discription of Miles' life. Everything's a little to predictable, yet nestolgic, comical, and comfortable, like watching reruns of Seinfeld. He smiles, chuckling as Levi presents the group with a detailed monoloug, cursing Chris to an eternity of only falling in love with beautiful women who are later revealed as men, reducing him to a shriveled raisin of loneliness with a bladder infection and chinchila hoarding addiction.

Chris always jokes that Levi is 'like' the staple black guy in they're group, which makes absolutley no sence as Levi is half Korean. But it's alright becuase Chris is astoundingly white, beyond the pale, which also serves as a fastinanting, and extremely intellectual, source of teasing. Although the idea that levi makes up minnorety-esque portion of they're friends is false as Noah is Argintinian. But for the most part the imature comments, (all meant as terms of endearment), stray from slight, unserious, and often missinterpreted racism to awkward sexual innuedos and the art of the many ways to tell one to "Shove it up their ass", "screw themselves" and a beautifully articulate, and descriptive list of ways to basically tell one to "Fuck off".

All terribly pedetrian forms of friendly argument, but entertaining nonetheless.
