~"Passing papers is a decent way to flirt, right
If I'm not forward I can't possibly get hurt, right
I've never trusted the idea of love at first sight
so settle down"~
_______________________________Langa has never really gone out of his way to make people like him. Sure he likes having friends, but he's never really had had a crush, so he likes to think of himself as more of a loner, than a socializer.
That was until he met Reki Kyan.
You see, Reki was the complete opposite. While Langa tries to stay out of people's business, if they haven't invited him in first, Reki would go talk to people. Anyone he finds interesting. Reki likes friends too and counts everyone as his friend until proven otherwise.
The biggest difference between the two though is that Reki.. likes girls. All kinds of them. And he makes it known too. But Langa has a different story. Langa, though he's never really had a crush, does like guys. He finds them more attractive, and easier to fall for than ladies.
But hey, we all have our own paths to follow. Whether or not they intercept with others, that's our choice to make, and Langa has to make a big choice, as he's found his first crush.
Now having a crush on your best friend isn't the best first crush to have. It's not easy to deal with, or to make things happen, or not happen with. However, it's also nice in a way, as you can use the fact that you're friends to hang out and try new stuff with them.
Your best friend is there for you and help you through your hard times, yet they continue to make good times flourish. They really are a wonder, huh?
Anyways, for Langa, Reki is more of a wonder than most people's best friends are. Reki has taught him skateboarding, friendship, heartbreak, and most importantly, love.
Reki was Langa's, first love.
Langa showed his affection through the papers they passed to each other during classes, as he didn't want to seem too obvious, or get damaged in any way through it.
But he cared more for Reki than himself. In many cases, you would find Langa trying to help Reki after he had crashed, or bailed from an attempt at a new trick. Though Langa wasn't good with blood in the slightest, he would still help Reki.
If it were anyone else, he would have had them deal with it, but for Reki... Anything.
Those few days Reki was sick, Langa brought homemade soup over as soon as he could after school. That was the same day that he told Reki he was demiromantic. Of course, he had to do quite a bit of explaining for Reki to finally catch on, but his reaction was pretty good nonetheless.
Well, that was a few months ago. Way past the time Langa figures he should have told Reki about his feelings toward him. But at least they still passed their notes back and forth. And the same routine followed day after day.
The notes always start with one of Langa's little note cards he got at the beginning of school. He never used them, so he figured he may as well talk to Reki through them. Langa always started the notes with a "good morning reki".
To which Reki usually replied with "good morning!!" Sometimes followed with a doodle, or "how'd you sleep?". Both of which made Langa's heart flutter for a meer second, seeing as Reki still enjoyed his company, and cared for him! Maybe not as much as Langa did for the redhead, but still. It was enough for Langa.
