It was an annoyingly hot day in early August, moving onto campus 2,000 miles away from the town in which your parents stayed made the heat and your own anxiety fill the blood in your veins causing you some slight panic. You see, ever since about a year ago you were diagnosed with a severe panic disorder and it has been a really hard journey , up until now. You wanted to challenge yourself, meet new people, and grow mentally stronger away from the inevitable fear of anxiety. Despite the fact of this condition, you were pretty extroverted, and quite impulsive and very confident in your attitude and looks. You worked out quite a bit, it really decreased the amount of panic attacks you endured and also made you really happy ever since you started to see results. Basically putting it, in high school before the panic attacks and anxiety set in you were a pretty rebellious teenager, cussing out teachers and being well known as a good fighter. You were friends with a lot of fake bitches in high school, but hey, in the end you showed them not to fuck with you. Looking back on how you used to act vs. now, you were kinda relieved this disorder had you in your home a lot of the time in fear of having an episode in public, you matured a lot from this, and now you are 20 years old ready to start your second year in college at a brand new place.

As the plane landed in Trost city, you were more than relieved because that plane ride was hell for you. Your parents were fairly wealthy, but not loaded. They had more than enough money to get you and all of your stuff flown out nicely along with a decent amount of money because despite your negative acts in high school, you kept a 4.0 GPA without really even cramming that often or acting like you were the shit, I mean you were the shit, you just didn't really see it that way because you never thought you ever worked that hard, you kind of saw it as some lucky ass gift you had if anything. Besides the point, even though your parents always taught you to save up and work for yourself hence ALWAYS having a job at home, they really wanted you to focus on your grades and college interaction. They knew your condition was bad and they were proud of you for coming this far, it was kind of like a reward. You grabbed your backpack with the little Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul keychain hanging off the end and took a few deep breathes and walked off into the Trost airport. Anxiety really hit you , you were all alone, no one to comfort you or help you if you needed medical help or if you were dying or if you fucking needed CPR or.... your overthinking was eating you alive as you were just standing there as people walked past you, you were paralyzed in fear. You quickly pulled out your phone and called your sister, Hitch.
"HITCH IM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO I JUST LANDED I CANT BELIEVE I FUCKING WENT THROUGH WITH THIS WHAT IF I DIE IN THIS DAMN AIRPORT BITCH I CANT FUC-", you were cut off by Hitch's words,

" Y/N, calm down okay? You told me you know this feeling and you know how to calm it down, right? Do that, for about two minutes, you're gonna be fine just know you aren't alone, hundreds of mentally ill bitches like you at your school are going through the same shit." She started giggling a little, her giggling made you nervously start to giggle too. You were always known as the "goofball" with your family and friends, Hitch knew how to get your brain to shift gears and you slowly started to tap your wrists correlating with your deep breathes. She stayed on the phone with you as you were sitting in a dark blue airport chair slowing your heart rate with the tapping . A couple minutes later you decided that anxiety was a trick ass bitch and you were gonna beat her ass, you thanked Hitch followed with a sarcastic joke and you said your goodbyes to her.

You got up with your head held high and started to walk to the exit and got into the Uber you had ordered to get to Trost University. It was quite literally right outside the city about 15 minutes from the airport. As the driver made it to your new dorm building , you thanked him and rushed inside the building  just wanting to be alone away from other people as you were much too overstimulated and exhausted.

" Floor 2, Room 211", you reassured yourself as you put the key that you got in the mail into your dorm doorknob and twisted it, revealed a pretty big and nice looking dorm. It had two separate bedrooms with doors unlike the ones you always imagined, with bathrooms in each, a living room area and a decent sized kitchen. You were so glad your dorm seemed nice and that you were able to be fully alone in your room instead of always being next to someone's bed 6 feet away. As you were looking around you heard one of the bedroom doors swing open dramatically, revealing a girl with brown hair up in a ponytail and a big cheeky smile plastered on her face.

"HEYOOOOOO SEXY MAMA IM THE GREAT, THE BEAUTIFUL, AND THE GENIUS SASHA BRAUSE" , she yelled followed by you loudly laughing and silently cheering your roommate seemed extroverted and goofy like you, you yelled back .

"WHY HELLO MISS EVERYTHING I AM THE FUNNY, THE AMAZING, AND THE MENTALLY ILL FN MUTHA FUCKIN LN!!!!', you both literally had just met each other and you could tell you were gonna be best friends. You both hugged and then casually sat down for a bit cracking jokes and getting a little information about each other. You had discussed your condition and she was super nice about it, explaining how she has dealt with her friends having panic attacks before and that she knew how to handle it. You exhaled dramatically as you were SO relieved you got a funny, pretty, and understanding roommate.(play "Freaking Out The Neighborhood" by Mac Demarco)

As time went by, people had dropped all of your stuff off in your dorm and you were organizing everything and making your room look exactly how you wanted it. LED lights, anime posters and all your Funko pops and TV and such , you had finally finished as it was nearing 9 PM. You told Sasha you were gonna go to sleep because you were so mentally and psychically exhausted . Before you could turn around and walk into your room, Sasha grabbed your wrist and you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion.

"Y/N, I don't know how you are about parties but one of my best friends that also goes here is throwing a party tomorrow since classes are starting next week. If your anxiety isn't about parties don't trip but my friends would literally love you and I want you to come with." She made a fake pouty face as I respond with,

" Hell yeah!! As long as I pre- game before so my nerves calm down ill be good. I love to party bitch, I just in no way can be sober or else I'll scare everyone with my anxiety having ass." You both started to laugh, it was true, although you did have this condition, you loved to party . Alcohol made your anxiety literally vanish despite just a couple times where you had a tiny episode, but nothing even close to your sober ones. You knew it was kind of an unhealthy thing to do, but you never drank more than two times a week or by yourself so you didn't really see it as concerning, you're in college anyway. Whats the worst that could happen?
