Chapter Eight: Run

Tanya's POV

"MUMMY!" I heard a cry from outside and I rushed out and saw Yelena with a skinned knee tears running down her face with Natasha holding her. I knelt down, "Yelena baby girl shh it's okay it'll all be okay baby." I kissed her head and looked to see there was no blood it just hurt.

"Pain only makes us stronger Yelena," I heard from behind me and saw Melina. I smiled at my wife and helped Yelena up. Natasha was swinging on the swings. "Babe that is not great advice for children," I smiled and Melina shrugged, "it's what I was taught." I shook my head and Yelena called out "forest stars" and we all looked up.

Melina started explaining to Yelena and I looked over to Natasha who has grown up so much. "Let's go dinner is ready," I said as I heard the ding of the timer.

I walked over to Natasha and wrapped my arm around her shoulder and lead her inside, "how is Maria baby girl?" I asked and the pre-teen blushed, "Maria is good she asked me to be her girlfriend." I smiled and kissed her head, "and you said?" Natasha blushed harder, "of course I said yes Mum she's beautiful and kind and I really like her."

We all arrived in the kitchen and Melina pulled me aside, "I have it we have to go." I turned to the kids then to Melina, "how long do we have?" Melina tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, "an hour at most." I let a tear fall, "can't we just run with the kids Melina I don't want them in the red room Yelena is only 6." Melina sighed, "we were younger."

"I don't want our children to grow up like we did Melina," I cried and the hazel eyed woman kissed me softly. "We have to we can't run from the red room," I cried and Melina hugged me.

"Mummy?" I looked down at Yelena then Melina spoke, "Yelena baby we have to go now get your sister we are going on a trip." Yelena smiled, "yay!" The 6 year old ran over to Natasha and I looked back at Melina, "can we try and bargain them out we have something he wants." Melina kissed my head, "yes we can try."

"I love you," I whispered and the hazel eyed woman kissed me. "Yucky Mummy. Mama." I smiled and picked Yelena up, "let's go Natasha baby."

Soon we were in the car and I was driving S.H.I.E.L.D agency SUVs passing us with sirens on. "Mummy I want my song," I smiled and put in the tape track. Miss American Pie came on and Yelena was singing in the back.

"So bye, bye Miss American Pie drove my Chevy to the Levy but the Levy was dry them good old boys drinking whiskey and rye singing this will be the day I die this will be the day I die." Yelena sung and Melina reached over and held my hand that was tense on the gear shift.

I looked up and Melina smiled, "I love you Tatiana Rasputin." I smiled back relaxing, "I love you too Melina Vostokoff."
