he finished so i can finally take my leave now

"okay, but before you go" he starts again as he closes the door

you better not ask for my name

"i never got the chance to finish my question, what is your real name?"

fuck, i guess i'll have to tell him

"its Y/N, but you can call me Colgate" like everyone else does

he hums and nods, "its nice"

"what is yours?"

i feel like im gonna ask him eventually so i probably should now. i see his expression turn from a smile into a frown, his eyes look away from mine clearly not so happy

"i dont really like my name.. i'd prefer if you would also call me by a nickname too"

i can just see the text box asking me to put in a name, it just gives me a flash back on how he reacted when i called him Bitch. i almost laughed but held it in

"Mm.. a nickname? lets see.." i fake thinking, should i just..?

"how about Peter? i always loved that name but never knew anyone by it!" i smile happily at him. but quickly change my facial expression when i saw his looked shocked and his frown deepening in confusion. "how-"

"oh im sorry! you dont like that name? it was the first one i thought of.. "

i try an pass it off as being just as confused. i dont really feel like calling him by a nickname. i always called him bitch

"thats actually my real name.." he turns away from me

i give him a look of surprise anyways

"oh, but i wanna call you that.." i trail off

"wow, you're really adamant on calling me Peter, aren't you?" he sighs "fine.. we'll go with that then"

word for word i feel like im playing the game right now. "hey.. Peter is a great name, especially for you! its nice" i say repeating what he said to me

"come onn turn that frown upside down~" i put my fingers to the side of my lips and give him a smile

i take the cart and head back to the store, i dont bother to turn back as i wave at him

i go inside and put the cart back with the others and start bagging for other customers

i punch in my meal time and head to the break room to eat my lunch

i steal a pen and paper and start writing... my 1 week notice of quitting..

yeah i am NOT risking it, plus i know i can find more high paying jobs out there anyways

ill only miss this place a little bit, i know its traditional to do 2 weeks but i feel thats too long. i fold the paper and finish eating my lunch while watching videos on my phone
