Tobias wakes up early, before sunrise and gets ready to continue the search. He makes himself an MRE breakfast while he waits for Dr. Dells to wake up. He brews some coffee, and sits to watch the sunrise. He hears movement in Dr. Dells tent. Tobias pours her a cup of coffee. She emerges from her tent, following the coffee smell. Tobias hands her the coffee cup, and she takes a loud sip from it. Dr. Dells walks over to the MRE crates and starts sorting through them, looking for breakfast. Once she has eaten, she walks over to where Tobias is sitting.
"I'm ready to go." She says.
"Alrighty then, let's go see if we can find our fellow time travelers." Tobias responds.
They climb into the Tacoma and head to where they left off the previous day, where they found the shining piece of equipment.
........
Dr. Smith wakes up, the sun just barely visible. He looks around, and sees Dr. Prendergast still sleeping, but no sign of Decker. He then hears a twig snap behind him. He quickly turns around, expecting the worst, only to find Decker walking with an arm load of wood for the fire.
"Good morning sleepy head." Decker says.
"Morning, what time is it?" Dr. Smith responds.
"About 6:30 am." Decker says.
"Should we wake Dr. Prendergast?"
"Let him sleep for another hour, then we'll get on the move."
"Alright. Man, do I wish we had some breakfast." Dr. Smith says.
"Me too, we'll get something to eat when we get to camp." Decker responds.
"Never thought I would want one of those MREs." Dr. Smith says.
"You get used to them." Decker says.
They sit by the fire, listening to the natural sounds around them. Decker puts another piece of wood on the fire when Dr. Prendergast wakes up.
"Good morning, we were just about to wake you." Decker says.
Dr. Prendergast just moans in response, he then stands up and walks to a more private place to take care of business.
"Probably just taking a morning leak." Dr. Smith says.
Dr. Prendergast returns, looking a little more alive.
"Better?" Decker asks.
"Yeah. So, are we going to head out?" Dr. Prendergast responds.
"Eager to leave, are we?" Decker says.
"Yeah, I'm hungry." Prendergast says.
"Yeah, so are we. Let me put this fire out then we can leave."
Throwing dirt on the fire, Decker extinguishes the fire. They gather what gear they have, then they head up river, in the direction of camp. Suddenly, an earthquake hits, shaking everybody to the ground. Its lasts for a minute, then it subsides.
"Wow! What a ride!" Dr. Smith exclaims.
"Hopefully that was just a fluke." Decker says.
"What do you mean?" Dr. Prendergast asks.
"With a volcano just miles from our location, things like that earthquake could mean bad news for us." Decker explains.
"You mean an eruption." Dr. Smith says.
"Yes." Decker Responds. "Come on, let's get out of here."
...........
"Stop the truck!" Dr. Dells tells Tobias.
