OC is named Jiang Mingzhu. Mingzhu means "Bright Pearl". Jiang Mingzhu is a very distant relative of the Jiangs, and was adopted by Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan after the deaths of her parents when she was just a baby, so she doesn't know that the two aren't her real parents. Jiang Mingzhu is engaged to Lan Xichen, and while she grew up, she fell in love with him, and he fell in love with her. Lan Qiren approved of Jiang Mingzhu, and Lan Wangji grew to trust and love her as much as he trusts and loves his older brother. She had been one of the only ones who pleaded with the elders and Lan Qiren about Lan Wangji's punishment of 33 lashes with the discipline whip, only to be ignored. Jiang Mingzhu has excellent memory, and only needs to see something done once before she could replicate it flawlessly. She is also one of Jin Guangshan's bastards, and is particularly close to Meng Yao/Jin Guangyao.

Jiang Mingzhu, well, Lan Mingzhu now since she's married to Lan Xichen, met up with Lan Wangji outside of the Mo Manor. She had been nearby when she saw the flare.

"Wangji," She greeted softly with a bow, and he did the same.

"Sister-in-law," He spoke just as softly, and after examining her expression, he spoke, sounding concerned, "Does brother know you've come out of seclusion?"

She blinked before nodding her head. "He was there...when I left seclusion. I've reached immortality."

The reason she was in seclusion was simple. Someone had tried to force themselves on her in Koi Tower after drugging her. Luckily, her older brothers and her husband had been there to stop the person before he could undress her further, but the stress of the situation had made her miscarry. Furious, Jiang Cheng had demanded for Jin Guangyao to have the almost-rapist executed while Qin Su had quickly led a frantic Lan Xichen, with an unconscious and bleeding Mingzhu in his arms, to the healers. Jin Guangyao had agreed with Jiang Cheng all too easily, his anger breaking the perfectly polite mask he always wore, and Jiang Cheng was given the permission to personally oversee the execution of their sister's almost-rapist, who also happens to be the one responsible for their future niece or nephew's death. A permission that Jiang Cheng had taken with absolute pleasure.

Not long later, a grieving Lan Mingzhu had gone into seclusion for the next ten years.

All this had happened while Lan Wangji was also in seclusion, so he hadn't known about this until he came out of seclusion. He knew the grief of his sister-in-law, since it was similar to his grief about losing Wei Ying, so he made it a point to be there for her. His brother also made it a point to be there for her as much as he could, but he still had Sect Leader duties to do, so he trusted his little brother to be there for her.

By now, the Lan disciples had come out and were greeting her excitedly as Lan Wangji checked to see if his sister-in-law was speaking the truth, and imagine his surprise when he realized it was true. He wordlessly congratulated her with a squeeze of her wrist, then he let go. Lan Mingzhu smiled slightly as she greeted them back, and after making sure they were okay, she tagged along with them as they headed to Dafan Mountain.

They arrived just in time to see Jin Ling about to stab someone in the back. Lan Mingzhu furrowed her eyebrows as Lan Wangji used a small burst of spiritual energy to stop the sword from making contact with the male in black.

"A-Cheng, is this how you taught A-jie's child all these years? Stab someone who is unarmed and while their back is turned?" Lan Mingzhu spoke, and Jiang Cheng visibly froze as he stared at the female, who had half her face covered with her spiritual fan that is the same colors as the sect she had married into.
