This is my first time ever posting to Wattpad and I'm not really sure how it works. So if this first attempt is an absolute mess... I apologize in advance.

I do not own anything that has to do with the Squid Game world. I am just here to play with the characters and change things to the way I would have liked them to happen.

This fic will be Jiyeong/Saebyeok centric so if that isn't your style then you are under no obligation to stay.

Jiyeong and Saebyeok wont interact until the Tug of War game, just like in the show, however there will be a lot of things that are different about the characters. (Up until they finally interact I will publish a chapter in each of their point of views at the same time.)

Now without further ado, here is the start of the story.

The black mask of the front man glittered under the florescent lights as he held on tight to the two game cards that he had personally been asked to deliver. It didn't make any sense to him why any of his co-workers would want to join in these god forsaken games. Neither of them were desperate for the cash. Neither of them had any kind of debt that had to be paid. As someone who had been through the games before, he just couldn't fathom the reasoning behind this madness. But who was he to question it? If dumb and dumber wanted to risk their lives for some cheap thrills then who was he to try and stop them.

"You realize that once you are in, there is no going back?" He asked cautiously. The one that was wearing a Red Guard uniform stepped forward regardless and held out their hand. He stared at the square shape on the mask before looking up to the third person in the room. He wore his rabbit VIP mask proudly. He nodded and stepped forward as well.

"Don't you worry about a thing," the rabbit told him as he took the cards from his hand, passing one over to the guard beside him. "I've been looking forward to this for a long time. And besides, I agreed I would take someone with me." He gestured beside him. I can guarantee they will keep their eye on me."

The guard nodded in agreement.

"And yet you refuse to let any of us know who this guard is?" The rabbit chuckled behind his mask.

"Now where would the fun in that be?" The front man let out an exasperated sigh.

"Well I can see there is no stopping you. Remember that there is a very small chance that we will be able to save you if you lose a game. And there is virtually no chance of saving YOU." He said, pointing at the guard. They just crossed their arms over their chest. Front man could tell they were cocky by the way they held themselves. He turned back to the VIP. "And are you sure you don't want to know the games in advance?" The man put his arm around the shoulder of the guard.

"I believe the two of us will be able to win this without any hints."

"Don't let their cockiness get you killed." Rabbit laughed again at the comment.

"No need to worry about that. We will be just fine my boy. Now I believe it's time for us to take our leave. We have a number to call and a game to sign up for." He turned and began walking away from the front man, however square face stayed behind. They didn't move at all. Just continued to stare at him and he was beginning to become uncomfortable.

"What!" He finally snapped. They just shook their head and turned to follow the VIP. Before they could get far though a hand on their upper arm stopped them in their tracks. They cocked their head to the side to indicate they were listening.

"Do whatever it takes to keep him alive in there. I don't give a shit what happens to any of the other players, or quite frankly what happens to you, but we both know the games need him to keep running. The game master in training is not ready to become the lead yet. Don't screw this up." The guard gave a single nod and followed after their leader, knowing what their task was and gleefully ready to get started.
