Jiyeong's eyes fluttered open as loud, classical music assaulted her ears. The last thing she remembered was entering the van that had come to take her to the games she had signed up for. Everyone else in the vehicle had been asleep. Now she knew why. She groaned and slowly sat up in the bed she had been laying on. It was the top bunk of a three tiered bunk bed. There were what looked to be hundreds of them. Each one of them taken by another person, all dressed in identical clothing. She glanced down to see she also wore the same outfit as the others.
"Welcome to prison 2.0" she muttered to herself. She ran her finger over the number woven onto her outfit. 240. Once again she was just a number. She noticed other people had started to wander over to the center of the room but she chose to stay where she was and observe. She had always had a sense for danger and her danger senses were most definitely tingling. There were a few large, thug like men who looked like they could literally pick her up and throw her into the sun if they wanted to. But a vast majority of the people looked normal.
"You bitch!" She heard a man yell from the center of the room and looked just in time to see one of the large, gangster like men slam his fist into the face of a tall woman who had seemingly been minding her own business. The girl crashed to the floor, but picked herself up quickly, turning to the man and glaring at him. Jiyeong had to give her credit. A lot of people wouldn't have been able to get back up after that.
"Didn't think I'd run into you here. Look at those eyes. I see your temper hasn't changed at all." Jiyeong tuned them out, to continue scanning the crowd. Some of them watched on in horror but a vast majority of them seemed to hold a glimmer of entertainment in their eyes. The look on an old man's face, number 001, could even be considered gleeful. Suddenly a third voice rose above the rest and Jiyeong looked back to where the action was. A third man, number 456 had one hand gripping the scruff of the girl's shirt and the other yanking her head to the side.
"That scar on your neck! Yes, it's you, the pickpocket! Give me my money back. Where's my money?" He is shaking her to the point Jiyeong is surprised she didn't get seasick. "Give it back!" The big gangster man, Number 101, landed a kick to his side and they began fighting as well.
"She's really popular." Jiyeong mused sarcastically. It really was just like being back in prison. What with the identical outfits, the numbers and the random fighting. Another person, a man with the number 324 looked up at her and nodded with a smirk on his face.
"Look at that guy? He's running around like a headless chicken." 324 gaffed at the older mans behavior. She turned back to the middle and saw that 456 was yelling about how 101 was going to try and kill him when the double doors opened and nine guards marched through.
"Finally, some real action." She hopped off the top bunk with ease and made her way towards the crowd, weaving her way between the people, knocking into a few along the way. The man that had been speaking to her tried to keep up but she lost him in the crowd.
The person wearing the mask with a square shape stepped forward.
"I would like to extend a hearty welcome to all of you. Everyone here will participate in six different games over six days. Those who win all six games will win a handsome cash prize." He began, holding out his arms in a form of welcome. Before he could go on people began interrupting him. Questioning his motives and one went as far as to accuse them of kidnapping. She grinned when they showed a video of this man being slapped multiple times by the man who had asked her to play a game. It was even more entertaining to her when they showed multiple people being slapped. She couldn't help but wonder how many of the 456 players had to be slapped before winning. The entire room went silent when player 456 asked how much money they would win.
