"Yeah, see if you are here to say that we should be together again after 5 years then it is a No " he stated clearly with a blank face
"No Tony, I am not here for that," she said and shook her head and sat on the chair in front of Tony and took out some documents related to Rose
"What are these ?" He asked and pointed at the documents
"Why don't you see yourself," She said and handed him some documents and he took them and started reading
"This is a medical file about a brain tumor," he said with a confused tone
"These are my files on a brain tumor," She said while looking down at her hands
"So, what do you want from me? If you want some money, I will give you " He said like he didn't care that she might die
"No Tony, this is not about money, this is incurable. I will die after a month or soon "
"I am sorry Lyla. But I do not understand why are you here ?"
"Tony, I broke up with you because I was pregnant with our child" She explained to him looking in the eye
"Our child ?" He said with a shocked expression
"Yes, Rose is our 5-year-old daughter, your daughter. I even have birth certificates to prove it " She said and took out Rose's birth certificates
Tony saw the certificates and was in a deep shock. He can't have a kid, that too a 5-year-old girl. He was staring at the papers with very deep thought and shock. His thoughts were interrupted by Lyla's voice
"Tony, I will die soon. I want you to take care of our daughter, your daughter. Please " She said to him in a very pleading voice
But Tony was never good at understanding emotions and feelings, that is why he didn't understand Lyla's emotions and her need to take care of her daughter.
"Sorry Lyla, but I can't take care of a kid. Why can't she live with your relatives or something " He said
"I don't have any family left, " She said and tears formed in her eyes
"Tony I beg you, please take care of Rose after my death " She begged him as tears started to fall down from her green hazel eyes that matched Rose's eyes.
"I am sorry Lyla but I am going to ask you to leave, " He said and got up from his chair and handed her the documents and the certificate
"Please Tony " She pleaded with him
"Please leave before I call the guards, " He said with no emotion in his voice.
Lyla knew that changing his mind was nearly impossible. So she got up and left the room and booked a cab and went to her house, it was nearly bedtime so she thought that Rose might have slept.
She went into her room and started crying and sobbing. Rose was awake in her room doing ballet, she heard her mother crying and went to see her. As Rose enter Lyla's room she saw her crying, she went near her mother and took her big hand in her small one and said
"Mommy, why are you crying ?" She asked
"Ohh, sweetie nothing " Lyla wiped her tears so Rose could not see them and smiled at her daughter
"Are you angry? Please don't be. I did my piano and ballet classes also " She said with a sad face
"I am not angry at you Rose. Someone made me sad" She explained with a sad smile
"Whosoever made you sad, I am never going to forgive them, even if they give me, my favorite candy " Rose said in an angry voice which was very cute, and pouted and folded her arms.
Lyla laughed at Rose's actions and took her in her arms and started singing a lullaby
"Roses are red, dilly, dilly
Violets are blue
Because you love me, dilly, dilly
I will love you
Let the birds sing, dilly, dilly
And the lambs play
We shall be safe, dilly, dilly
Out of harm's way"
As the sweet lullaby was over they both were sleeping in each other's arms.
