Touchdown!
I felt the floor jump as our landing gear hit the tarmac. I kept in my seat, waiting for the humongous menace to halt. Once we did, that sick feeling came to me again. I rushed to the door, slamming it open. I met about 50 armed officers. I shot back inside, to Quinlan and Afonasii.
"I am sick and tired of having my life put on trial! You go get them." I pushed them ahead, grabbing the nearest seat. I heard talking outside, no gunshots. When I dared to look, the officers were helping Quinlan off the plane. Then they saw me, then the whole loopapalooza went off again.
After some convincing, they accepted me as a diplomatic official. From that point on, I had one of the Filimons or the Blackwinds within shouting range.
They led us to a limousine that had been sent for us by Monica and Julian. As we traveled down the streets, I was stunned that civilized life still existed, at least from what I saw back home. Back there it was kill or be killed; here, money still reigned. Looking out the window, store signs and various words had strange letters and hieroglyphics. I couldn't make out anything, except for the obvious big American brands that no-one can forget.
We sped down the crowded streets, police motorcycles parting the heavy traffic. In no time, we were driving up the rural road to a gigantic mansion. As the SUVs with the rest of my family and supplies arrived, a butler was already unloading my weapons duffel bag. I politely took it from him, saying thank you. He looked at me with a confused look, but shrugged his shoulders, then returned to the car to grab the rest of the stuff.
I turned aft to see the massive beauty of my lodging, almost bringing a tear to my eye. As I walked up the pathway, past the gardens with exotic flowers, the door opened. The rest of the Filimons came and stormed me with hugs, "Welcome!"
I just went along with it. Seconds later, we entered the house and set our belongings down. The three story mansion was truly the definition of luxury, the air itself was shouting it loudly. I pulled ahead to explore, examining every nook and crevice with awe. Soon, we were led upstairs to our rooms. We all slept in our own rooms, in beds lined with gold and dressed in silky sheets. Unlike anything I've ever seen... let alone experience.
"Jesus..."
"It's really something huh?"
I turned to Afonasii, "Are you kidding? This is incredible! Especially now at this moment." I turned back to my room, staring in awe at all the bright furniture. Not half a second later, butlers were barging in, setting everything in its place. Not that I could tell the future, but they were certainly spoiling us.
It was late evening now, I looked in the drawers for anything comfortable. A set of pajamas and shirt were lying there, I checked them. Mediums, my size. I changed in the adjacent bathroom, before climbing into bed. It was perfect.
Soon, I was cuddled in warmth for the first time in months. I fell fast asleep, Dai and the Zombie Train hadn't even crossed my mind.
