elijah shawe is a godless name. once a preacher with a bountiful following, the man now finds himself forced into exile by a string of unspeakable tragedies. accompanied by his two brothers, the three try to find rest in the lonely town of saker, virginia. haunted by a broken ministry, and with no congregation to preach to, elijah turns to the people of saker in hopes of rebuilding his image.

clyde willis is saker's most recent outcast. having tormented half the town, and constantly on the hunt for trouble, most have become weary of his presence. it's no secret as to what he is, with some even likening him to the devil. although the townspeople are no better than him, they all share the same devotion to God despite their short comings. the arrival of a runaway girl aims to challenge clyde's morals and possibly bring out a new side of him. the preacher and his brothers dare to throw off the unbalanced harmony that saker so peacefully resided in. only God knows who will be left standing in the end.
