Third POV
"Midoriya.." Janie's voice was soft as she spoke up. She was smiling from how her patient was noticeably terrified but even so he still tried to protect her. "It's okay, I promise.." Janie watched as Izuku's head barely shifted and his eyes quickly met hers, she nodded to him and Izuku let his wing slowly fall down, along with his eyes.
"Izuku." Katsuki's voice was loud in the room but it didn't hold his usual rude tone. It surprised Janie, seeing as she's only been spoken to with his harsh tone, but it also made something lift off of her shoulders; he had noticed how Midoriya was scared and changed his voice.
Izuku still didn't respond though, even with the change in tone. He instead only moved his eyes to now meet the blonde's. "Izuku, I won't hurt you.." Katsuki didn't know what to say, he wanted to ask so many question: Do you remember me? Do you remember our childhood? What I did? What happened?... but in the end, all Katsuki could do was remain quiet, what if he frightened him more?
"Midoriya," Janie saw how the blonde hesitated and decided to take the lead, "this is who you will be staying with, do you know him?" Janie held her breath as soon as she asked the question, Katsuki as well.
Katsuki felt every nerve in his body ride to his throat. The only thing he could hear was the beat of his pounding heart, he honestly thought he was about to puke. If Izuku said he didn't remember... he didn't know what he would do.
Both Katsuki and Janie continued to wait, watching the small male on the bed as he refused to asnwer. He was thinking. Izuku knew he knew this person. He remembered them.. just didn't know from where.
Not only did he seem to remember them from when he had first woken up, or from back at the abandoned building, but he remembered the blonde from long ago.
Katsuki...
Kacchan..!
Izuku's eyes stayed locked onto Katsuki's as he hesitantly nodded, finally answering Janie's question. He didn't see her smile, nor the relief that washed over Katsuki after seeing his response. The blonde was able to breath again, he even smiled. He was so damn happy and grateful.
"That's good." Janie spoke with such relief. "Now, you're all set to go, there's only a few more things we should go over, are you alright with that?" Izuku broke the eye contact with Katsuki and let his sight fall to the scars on his arms, trying to get himself to focus on the weight of his wings behind him and the beat of his heart as he nodded. His anxiety began eating him away even worse now after the mention of leaving. He was somewhat safe here, but that won't be the case out there..
Izuku couldn't even remember what it was like outside. Was the sky still clear and fresh? The grass still a dark, smooth green? ....Are the streets still covered in villains? Dangers lurking everywhere?
Both Janie and Katsuki watched the male's reaction with great interest. They saw how he was in his head and they longed to know what he thought about, both of them wanted to learn so much about him it would probably drive them insane.
"Alright." Janie clapped her hands together, deciding it was time to get her act together. "Midoriya, I will just set up a few things with you, as well as give you a fresh pair of clothes." Janie smiled, trying to give Izuku a kind gesture, then turned to Katsuki with a stern stare. "And as for you, I would like you to please exit the room and talk to Doctor Scott, as well as sign Izuku out."
Katsuki glared right back at the woman and scoffed. He knew why she glared at him and he knew there was probably yet another lecture coming, how fun.
Glancing at Izuku one last time, he forced himself to leave. The sooner he signed Izuku out, the faster he could take him home.
