"Hear that you three? It's the middle of Fall and we have no heating! All because some cheap bastard wants to save money!-" Adeen sighed upset as she sat in her room. "At least living with him I don't have to worry about living in filth-"Abel sighed softly as he stared out the window, an unlit cigarette in his mouth "this will be a long month right Abeltje?" he turned to look at his loyal rabbit, whom was munching on some food, staring at their owner as they rambled on. "Can't she understand I like money? I mean I have my reasons, you understand Abeltje" he grabbed his lighter out of his pocket, lighting the cigarette, taking a long drag as when to go outside.
I mean he couldn't have his house smell like smoke right?
Meanwhile, Adeen was adding her own touch to the room; adding various pictures, and other random knick-knacks and other memorabilia. Nothing like flipping the whole room just to say it's her room.
"It's perfect! Right you three?" she turned to her dogs whom were wagging their tails in excitement, jumping on the bed and eventually settling down.
After a few minutes, Adeen went to go grab a snack as she opened the pantry she said to herself "let's see what he has in here- only granola bars?! And their not even on brand!" she sighed "but it's what I got so I'm not gonna complain- oh blueberry!" she grabbed a bar and went to unwrap it.
Abel came back inside, only to see an Irish woman raiding his snacks, 'she at least could have asked-' thought Abel. But to make a somewhat good conversation with her. "How's the granola bar?" he asked while walking over towards the kitchen.
"It's pretty good, but do you only have granola bars? Like you can tell me if you have a secret stash." Adeen chuckled, stepping closer to the Dutch man.
"I'm glad you like the snack, but no I do not, it's just how I am; sure I'll like a little sweet thing every now and then but not everyday" he said crossing his arms, he knew that 'having a little sweet thing' was only limited to a Dutch dessert or a edible sent by Canada.
"Well I normally try to eat a snack everyday, now I'm not saying something like a slice of cake but at least something small to last me to dinner after lunch" she said.
Abel nodded "fair enough-" Abel then realized another issue; their eating arrangements, were most definitely different. From what he could connect the dots to, she ate three meals a day and he only ate dinner, and maybe breakfast if he felt generous to himself. And on top of that, he never used his kitchen! He normally ordered take out for himself!
Adeen said, finishing off her granola bar "well that was delicious, not too be straight-forward; but when and what's dinner, because I normally eat dinner around 6pm and I don't mind cooking!" she smiled happily.
Abel blinked, looking at her for a solid extra five seconds before finally saying "oh well, you see I normally just get take out for dinner-"
"Like- you just buy take out...everyday that surely must add up over time?"
"Well you see I have coupons-"
"...of course you do" Adeen said under her breath, before saying "you know what, this has to change- here you sit down and do...Abel things and I'll cook and prove to you; that you can be a clean freak AND a good chef!"
Abel said "I don't normally say this but... Fine, cook but if my kitchen is a pig-stye by the time your done. Your done from ever stepping in this kitchen again-" Abel then went outside to his backyard to tend to his garden.
He hoped he made the right choice.
