I was there, watching those kids... those privileged kids, to be specific. When you're a kid whose parents abandoned them at a young age, and get robbed of there right to stay at an orphanage, every child looks privileged. Well, not everyone, at least not the ones who got caught that night. Anyways so I was there among a sea of cheerfully excited onlookers, and parents shouting top of there lungs cheering for there childrens to win watching martial arts tournament held between every high schools in Nigaur division.
"Hey, wanna join the tournament? You should give it a shot!" said a guy sitting next to me. I gave him a sidelong glance. It was Ryan, my middle-aged coworker at the mineral mine. The other guy seemed focused on the match in front of us, holding back his laughter for some unknown reason, apparently oblivious to my stare. Finally giving in, he burst into laughter.
"You wish," said Ryan, patting my back. "Every single participant might end up running home in tears."
I let out a long sigh and gave him a small smile. "I wish."
Noticing my downcast expression, Ryan tried to cheer me up. "But really, Ethan, you have to admit, some of those guys with good nutrition and guzzling elixirs are barely hanging on to the first tier of martial arts at 18 years old, while you managed that at 15 with poor health conditions, barely eating to survive."
Despite Ryan's attempt to cheer me up, I couldn't shake off this dissertation. What's the point of all this talent? I'm 17 now and still stuck at the first tier, and a dropout at that. Meanwhile, they'll just go on to join good universities, find good jobs, and surpass me.
We came here to watch the tournament to try to let go of our frustrations, but it doesn't seem to be working.
"Ryan, let's go earn a few coins. It's always better to have more money," I said, Ryan agreeing to my suggestion stood up, and with that, we left the stadium to find some work.
Ryan, my coworker, was at least 10 years older than me, traditionally earning him the title of "big brother." However, in this martial arts-dominated era, where one's martial prowess reigns supreme, I found myself treated as his equalIt was 3 century ago, humanity faced a devastating invasion of monsters from space crak, causing widespread destruction. Despite deploying modern weaponry, the sheer strength of Tier 3 and above monsters posed a formidable challenge, requiring numerous missiles to bring them down.
Fortunatly, amidst this crisis, an old martial artist tapped into an unknown energy, breaking through human limits and revolutionizing martial arts. This breakthrough led to the formation of the World Class Alliance, dedicated to spreading this new martial art worldwide to combat foreign invaders. As a result, every sector now falls under the sway of martial artists, where one's rank dictates their future.
