BOOM
Your eyelids flew open at the crash of thunder outside. Lightening rippled across the windows, which rattled from the ferocious wind. You were lying in the fetal position, with one knee tucked to your chin and the other bent at an unnatural angle. You tried to move it but cried from the pain that radiated down your leg. Your eyes wildly darted around the room as you tried to make sense of your surroundings.
You could see only when the storm allowed you too, and the inconsistent flashing made it impossible for your eyes to adjust to the dark. You had to analyze everything twice to make sense of your surroundings. You were in a classroom, that was clear, so you must have just fallen down a floor. If that was the case, then your friends had to be nearby too. Considering you all fell at the same time.
You noticed a rather large lump lying towards the middle of the room. You had assumed it was just some broken chairs or maybe a desk, as it hadn't moved or responded when you called. Then again, it could be someone who is unconscious. If they had fallen like you had, then it was a likely case. The only way to tell was to go check. Of course getting over to them was a challenge since your knee couldn't bear any weight. Instead you were forced to crawl, trying your best not to hit it against the floorboards.
As you slowly closed in on them you realized something was wrong, very very wrong. They smelled awful, to the point it made you gag. They looked unnaturally thin, even in the dim light you could see that. When the room lit up with another flash of light, it revealed everything you wished you could unsee.
Bleached bones beneath torn clothes were splayed out, some with muscle still attached. The floorboards beneath them were stained with congealed blood that left a gooey trail to what was left of the person's stomach. Parts of their skull were missing, revealing a half rotten brain, which was most certainly the source of the smell.
"Oh god, oh god, oh god," You immediately backpedaled, twisting your injured knee in the process. The sudden pain shocked you, sending you into flight mode. Half running, half crawling to the door, you grasped the handle only to find it locked. "Nonononononono!" you screamed, slamming your fist so hard against the door it went numb.
"Where are you going Onee-chan?"
You froze at the voice. Slowly, you peered over your shoulder to see a young girl standing on the other side of the room. She wore a tattered crimson dress that was badly frayed at the ends. Her long sable black hair was a stark contrast to her very pale skin making her look rather sickly.
"This way," the girl giggled, pushing open a door that definitely wasn't there before. She paused before crossing the threshold, "You coming?"
"I..uh...yeah" You answered, grabbing a chair to climb to your feet. As soon as you put weight on your knee, you crumbled to the floor. Tears prickled your eyes but you quickly blinked them back, not wanting the girl to see as she approached.
